Fall-ing Forward

Hi everyone,
Now that Fall has arrived, with our first rainfall--can you believe it--it's  time for a few reminders:
First and foremost is San Anselmo's "Country Fair Day,"this Sunday, September 29th, with Pancakes at the firehouse starting at 7:00am, Parade at 11:00, and Food Glorious Food all day in Creek Park.
In addition, I wonder if you dare go down the Zipline, run in the Hamster Ball, or ride the Mechanical Bull? All fun if you're too big to ride the train through town.
A great day for everyone! See you there!
A couple of fall reminders about trees and leaves: try not to stuff extra cans with your leaves and prunings. During this time of "autumn leaves"you can rent an extra green can at a very reasonable rate and save the backs of our drivers at Marin Sanitary. The trucks are not fitted to lift the "extra" cans that we have, and MSS has had many disability claims for back injuries. So, call up and do a temporary rental for a couple of months.
And are the acorns HUGE on your block? The deer and squirrels are having a great feast on our street. Farmer's Almanac says this portends a big winter!
Election time is fast approaching and although there are three of us for the three, four-year seats in San Anselmo, there will be three candidates for the one, two- year seat. So be sure to vote on November 5th. It's hard work but all of us know it's of value to our community.
I had a great summer with tomatoes, (just how do they get "blossom rot"?) and a squash plant that looked like something out of The Little Shop of Horrors, and highly successful Picnics on the Plaza. Another highlight was the lovely dinner in our new Imagination Park. Great event! Thank you to the San Anselmo Community Foundation.
I'm looking forward to the crisp evenings of the season and apple pie!
See you at Country Fair Day.
