Tam District's "Good News"

Tam District's Board of Trustees honor students during the 11/14/12 "Good News" segment of the board meeting. More news, photos, and information on our blog: http://tamdistrict.blogspot.com

During the school year, TUHSD Board of Trustees meetings include “Good News” segments.  These are opportunities to honor students, staff, and community members for their accomplishments.  At the November 14 meeting, honorees included students from Sir Francis Drake, Tamiscal, and Tamalpais High Schools.

First up, Sir Francis Drake High School Principal Liz Seabury introduced Nic Seminerio.  Nic, who is only a junior, worked as the Obama reelection campaign’s Regional Field Organizer for Northern California.  This was a very important and extremely busy and stressful job.  His contributions to the campaign’s success are impressive, not to mention that he did all this while taking a full load of high school classes.  Nic plans to continue his political work and looks forward to future campaigns--and being old enough to vote.

Next, Tamiscal’s Principal Corbett Elsen introduced seniors Hafsa Baporia and Bushra Bham.  These two students have created a club called “Helping Hands.”  The club’s goal is to provide aid to victims of Hurricane Sandy, as well as to support less fortunate families by providing them with financial donations for holiday expenses.  The club is raising funds by hosting bake sales and collecting donations.

Last but not least, Tam’s Principal Tom Drescher introduced senior Kenny Rosenberg and junior Teddy Mauze from Tam’s varsity soccer team.  They described their season and recent NCS Division I victory.
