Marin's First Baby Born at Marin General

Omar weighed in at 7 pounds, 10 ounces and was born almost 12 hours after the new year struck.

A boy born to a Novato couple claimed the title of Marin’s First Baby of the Year on Sunday at Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae.

The 7-pound, 10-ounce brown-haired boy was born almost 12 hours after midnight, according to a hospital press release. His parents named him Omar. He is the second child of Isaias, 22, and Stephanie, 20, who are California natives.

"One minute we’re watching Lady Gaga on TV counting down to the New Year and the next we are rushing to the hospital,” the parents said in the release.
