Marin Man a Finalist in Redbook’s National ‘Hot Husband’ Contest

The San Francisco firefighter's wife entered him into the contest without his knowledge.

A San Rafael man is in the running to the Redbook's 2014 “Hottest Husband in America.”

Matt Alba’s wife, Sarah Alba, entered him into the contest without telling him. The online magazine recently narrowed the more than 1,500 submissions to a top 25 contenders, and he is one of them.

Alba told the Marin Independent Journal he wasn’t surprised his wife entered him in the contest — he said she has a “fire in her” — but he was surprised to have become a finalist.

In Alba’s bio his wife describes her husband, a San Francisco firefighter, as “truly selfless” when it comes to their relationship and parenting their 4-year-old daughter, Ashlyn.

“Matt’s the first to jump out of bed when our daughter can’t sleep, or make a run for fro-yo at 10pm. He even learned how to braid her hair!”
