Well, folks -- a number of you asked about teenager Forest Peri's great Green Transportation video. They fixed it and put it back on YouTube. So, here goes:
Meantime, I'm working hard for my non-profit Five 4 Five, so it'll be a few days before I can write something more about life without a car. I want to thank those of you who asked for clarification of my $150 shoes and my $40 bike remarks. What I should have said was that most of us have too many shoes. And spend too much money on having a lot of them. Why not have only one really good pair and use them to help you get out of your car? As regards the $40 bike at a garage sale remark, I find I can bring a $40 bike up to a value of a hundreds of dollars of worth to me. But I can't take a bungled pair of shoes and make them into the walkers I really need.
