Fairfax Food Pantry Going Strong Through the Holidays

The Fairfax Food Pantry provides free produce and dry goods to those in need. The Pantry is open every Saturday from 9-11 a.m. at the Fairfax Community Church, and is open to all.

The Fairfax Food Pantry is every Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at (2398 Sir Francis Drake Blvd, Fairfax). The pantry provides fresh produce, dry goods, and USDA surplus foods to local residents, and is the only one in Ross Valley. There is no residency requirement and all are welcome. Since , the pantry has grown to serve well over 100 families every week.

Organized by Holly Bragman, volunteers start setting up tables and stations at 8 a.m. By 9, doors are ready to open. The volunteer staff helps distribute and bag food, and stays on to break down tables and boxes after doors close at 11 a.m. Volunteers can register at www.eventsvolunteer.com, which allows volunteers to choose specific dates and shifts that suit their schedules and abilities.

The Fairfax Food Pantry is a collaboration between the San Francisco Food Bank, the Town of Fairfax, the Fairfax Community Church, and the Fairfax Volunteers. Sustainable Fairfax is proud to be an ongoing supporter of this great program.
