Happy Birthday to Us!

San Anselmo-Fairfax Patch launched a year ago today.

Happy Birthday to Us!

San Anselmo-Fairfax Patch is one year old today. Some of you (though not all of you) may remember some of the stories we covered that first day: like and and .

A lot has changed, though, since I sat in  one year ago and listened to the engineers countdown to our site officially going live. We've added blogs (if you want to blog email kellyd@patch.com) to the site, new event features for you to add your own events here (please, no commercial advertisements), and a Q&A section for you to get all your local questions answered.

But, some things haven't changed. We still want you to be an important part of the site -- it's your site -- and we still want to cover all the issues that the community finds important. So, always feel free to reach out with tips or feedback and don't forget to leave comments on stories so the whole community can participate in the conversation.

San Anselmo-Fairfax was about the 97th Patch site in the country. Now, there are nearly 840 sites. Here in Marin, we're joined by San Rafael and Mill Valley -- both about four weeks older than us -- and our younger siblings, Larkspur-Corte Madera and Novato

Though we're a year old today, we're still very young and we still have a lot of growing to do. Let us know how you think we're doing and what else we can do better.

And, happy birthday to you too!

Thanks for the feedback, John. To my knowledge, we don't have a comments stream anywhere. DefinitelyRead More submit your comments here (it's the most efficient way to get your thoughts heard at the higher level): http://ow.ly/l4cyg

Is anybody else here getting multiple e-mail notifications of new comments by Jo Tog, and thenRead More clicking the link, only to find that they are actually old comments from Jo Tog, but with today's date on them? What's the deal? Did all his comments get flagged and deleted, and now he's re-posting them? Most curious.

Jo Trog, we live in a Corporatocracy, not a republic. We abdicated the Republic after 9/11, if notRead More before. Know the difference.

Banning the sale in a free market economy is too strong. I believe people should be able to chooseRead More so long as the product is labeled correctly, and even placed in a section with a big sign that says "GM Food products". Would I buy it if I pass the section at the grocery store: NO.
