So, How Are We Doin'? Grade San Anselmo - Fairfax Patch

We get our fair share of criticism — constructive and otherwise. But I'm curious to know if we're meeting your needs and what we can be doing better. Really.

San Anselmo - Fairfax Patch has been making the rounds throughout the community in an attempt to reach out and establish real-world connections with our thousands of daily readers. Lots of questions from the public have been answered about the website, which turned 2 earlier this year.

Now we ask you some questions: Are we getting you news you don't get elsewhere? Are we getting it to you in a timely fashion? What part of San Anselmo - Fairfax Patch do you like the most? The least? (We can take it, gulp, really).

It is apparent we have an established following, and that you are a discerning, intelligent bunch. I'd like to know your thoughts on how we can give you even more of what you need in the course of your day — and no, we're not going to add a door-to-door bagel and latte delivery service. The model doesn't work that way.

But if there's anything else you think we should be doing, let me know in comments.

Have a investigative journalism team rotate throughout all the patch cities.
One good article every 6 months will add credibility and readers and thus,,, advertisers. As of now i dont see how your ads are covering your expenses. At some point patch headquarters will have to stop subsidizing.

I think you are doing a great job and are covering local news and events very well. Keep up the good work!

I think this Patch has improved recently, and the stories are more interesting, with less of the 'kid of the week' type of articles. Thank you for that! I'm sure there will always be room for improvement, but a few things come to mind. There are rarely very many comments, or votes when you have a poll -- I take that to mean not a lot of people are aware of the SA-F Patch. I'd like to see more of a presence, and that could be as simple as flyers on a lot of bulletin boards around town. I find the police logs most interesting, and would like to see them expanded -- especially when there's an incident (like a report of a dog in a hot car) and no indication what the follow-up was. Lastly, the Patch could use a proofreader (I'm available!).

I find something worthwhile in my Patch about once every other week. I'd love to see more substantive Ross Valley and town-by-town politics and policy. I miss Tom McInerney's solid discussions. Patch is a GREAT idea, but the several local Patches I see aren't yet living up to their promise.
Involve your readers more in Patch's success. Make it easier to see readership stats; tell us what kind of support you're getting or not getting from HuffPo; recruit more volunteer journalists -- for instance, I'd love to see regular columns from Sustainable FX or Friends of CM Creek, etc. Tell us about volunteer political possibilities in this election season. Have more links to Marin government and NGO sites.

I went to the Smashburger in Novato & have to say that it was a disappointing experience. TheRead More burger was very mediocore & the onion rings were awful-very greasy. The staff were not friendly & operated with a "Bambi in the headlights" look about them. I do wish Smasburger luck in their locations. However, from my perspective there is a good deal of work that still needs to be done with the food, staff & service. At this time, "In & Out" Burger is a "hand's down favorite...thanks

Sheryl, I would put up our food and our service against any In & Out, anytime, any place. I'llRead More put my burger where my mouth is (literally) and offer you some free vouchers to be at our opening in Mill Valley. Send me an email (jasonwkent@gmail.com) with your mailing address and I'll get those vouchers to you ASAP.

How many loaves of bread could you make from a 200 sq, ft. wheat field?
