Country Fair Day
The 2010 San Anselmo Country Fair Day and parade will take place on Sunday, Sept. 26. The day begins with a pancake breakfast prepared by Ross Valley Fire Department staff and volunteers at the downtown fire station. The parade is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. and will extend along San Anselmo Avenue from Ross Avenue to San Rafael Avenue. A street fair will follow the parade, ending at 3 p.m.
Many hands are needed to put on this traditional and beloved event. If you can help us pull it together, please contact David Donery at (415)258-4661.
Applications for parade entries and fair booths will be accepted up until Friday, Sept. 3 and are available online here.
Volunteer Opportunities
The Town Council is looking for volunteers for a number of town boards, commissions, and committees:

Flood Horn
Recently when testing the Town's emergency horn, a few people have been caught off guard and startled by the loud blast. Unfortunately, the horn needs to be tested once a week to ensure its performance during an actual emergency.
The emergency horn was placed in the downtown by design as it needs to be heard by as many people as possible who live and work in San Anselmo.
To ensure that the Town's flood horn will always be ready to send out a warning when needed, it is tested by blasting the horn one time each Friday at approximately noon. We have shortened the blast considerably in an attempt to make it less startling.
Thank you in advance for your understanding and support.
Reminder: Upcoming Town Council meetings:
- Tuesday, August 10, 7 p.m. – housing element, budget approval
- Tuesday, August 24, 7 p.m. – rules for dogs at Robson Harrington park, green building ordinance
