The Fairfax police log for June 1-5 includes playing pitbull puppies, problems with an ex and a homeless encampment discovery.

Truck blocking roadway: Lansdale Avenue and Hooper Avenue, San Anselmo. 1:13 p.m.  Caller reported a truck blocking the roadway and forcing vehicles to back the length of Lansdale to exit. Caller didn’t know the exact location of the vehicle, but advised it was on the border of San Anselmo and Fairfax.

Drum disturbance: Wreden Avenue. 3:59 p.m. Caller reported a subject playing the drums very loudly with the windows open. She said it’s disturbing her peace.

Monday, June 4

Recycling materials theft: Siam Lotus restaurant on Broadway. 5:32 a.m. Caller reported theft of recycling materials that had just occurred. The responsible subjects were contacted and warned. They returned the items and left the area.

Fire and propane tanks: Manor Road. 2:26 p.m. A trailer was on fire and propane tanks were in danger of blowing. Ultimately, the fire was confined to the trailer and a couple of trees above it.

DUI: Center Blvd. 3:41 p.m. Report of a possible reckless driver or someone driving under the influence, who is now parked.

Suspicious vehicle: Shady Brook Apartments, Merwin Avenue. 10:39 p.m. Vehicle occupied by two in front of the building.

Driving without a license: Shady Brook Apartments, Merwin Avenue. 10:55 p.m. Driver was cited for driving with an expired license.

 

Sunday, June 3 

Mental health emergency: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. and Claus Drive. 1:08 a.m. Caller reported that a 13 to 14-year-old appears to be having a mental health emergency. Doesn’t appear to be drugs or alcohol. Officers responded and the juvenile was released to her mother.

Newspaper call: 7-11 on Bolinas Road. 5:09 a.m. Call from an unknown male subject, saying something about a newspaper at a 7-11 near Safeway, possibly in Fairfax.

Domestic violence: Porteous Avenue. 11:23 a.m. Caller reported a domestic violence assault. The other party was leaving the scene when she called. Officers located and contacted him. He was arrested and booked into Marin County Jail.

Suspicious dog: Sequoia Road. 6:22 p.m. Caller said he located a large brown dog in his backyard that does not belong to him.

  

Saturday, June 2

Problems with an ex: Willow Avenue. 2:06 a.m. Caller reported ongoing issues with ex-husband. She said he stole her son’s bicycle the other day and left a threatening message on the answering machine. No merit to threat, advice was given.

Traffic complaint: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. and Willow Avenue. 11:30 a.m. Report of a subject who threw a bottle from a moving vehicle.

Parking complaint: Lansdale Avenue and Pastoria Avenue. 1:01 p.m. Reporting person said several vehicles were parked in red zones and precariously in the area.

Permit check: Good Earth on Center Blvd. 3:27 p.m. Reporting person would like to know if the event at Good Earth received a permit from the town.

911-training: Redwood Road. A 911 call was received from a father teaching his 5-year-old son how to call 911. No current emergency. Caller was counseled regarding appropriate use of 911.

 

Friday, June 1

Noise complaint: Meernaa Avenue. 2:33 a.m. Report of a party with five to 10 people and music. Officers contacted a small gathering and the responsible party agreed to call it a night.

Homeless encampment: Bennett House on Taylor Drive. 3:29 p.m. Maintenance person found what appears to be a homeless encampment by the building.

Disturbance: Park Road. 6:55 p.m. Reporting person said an ongoing situation with one her roommates is escalating. An officer met with the RP and a report was taken.

Insanity case: Bolinas Road. 7:06 p.m. Reporting person said her son, who might be somewhere in Fairfax, was having a psychiatric emergency. She requested officers be on the lookout for the subject. Within minutes, she said her son had been located elsewhere and no further action was required.

Disturbance: Outside Creekside Apartments on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 911 report of a family altercation, possibly physical. Officers responded and determined that it was verbal only. Parties were separated and will remain so.

Found bicycle: 7-11 on Bolinas Road. 9:08 p.m. Bicycle with an extra tire is leaning on the ivy across from the Police Department.

Public intoxication: Fairfax Theatre on Broadway. 9:12 p.m. Reporting of a DUI driver, now parked in the theater parking lot. Responsible was contacted in a bar, determined to have been drinking, but witness and reporting person declined involvement so a cab was called to take the subject home.

Playing pitbull puppies: Center Blvd. 10:30 p.m. Reporting person was knocked over by a friends’ two pitbull puppies who were playing off-leash earlier. Reporting person sustained a scratch to her knee but declined any action at this time.
