A Man Chasing a Raccoon, Several Solicitors and Residential Burglaries

The Central Marin Police Authority responded to a variety of calls in San Anselmo Feb. 5-10.

  

Sunday, Feb. 10

Civil problem: 2:04 p.m. Crest Road. Resident reported her mother in law has been harassing her via text messages and on Facebook for the past three days. RP requests advice. Both parties were contacted and given advice.

Suspicious circumstances: 2:17 p.m. Mariposa Avenue. Caller advised of an occupied vehicle, with tinted windows, for the past hour with a male subject using a cell phone. Contact made with the subject who had been waiting for a friend.

Lost cat: 8:47 p.m. Floribel Avenue. Resident reported their cat is missing since early afternoon. Cat is 7-months-old, gray tabby named "Custer". If located please call the RP.

Saturday, Feb. 9 

Suspicious circumstances: 10:56 a.m. Memorial Park on Veterans Place. A caller reported a female subject at the park last seen on foot towards Redhill Center carrying several dead rats and talking to herself. The area was checked. Officer checked the area and was unable to locate the subject.

Fuel spill: 12:03 a.m. May Lees on San Anselmo Avenue. FD will be responding to a fuel spill. Handled by Ross Valley FD.

 

Friday, Feb. 8 

Trespassing: 2:29 p.m. Chipman Place. RP reported a neighbor was trespassing on her property and stated it was an on-going issue. Officer provided advice.

Stolen mail: 2:50 p.m. Greenfield Avenue. RP reported theft of mail from his mailbox. Officer contacted the RP and provided advice; RP was referred to USPS.

 

Thursday, Feb. 7 

Solicitor: 12:33 p.m. Nokomis Avenue and Madrone Avenue. Anonymous RP reported two subjects came to his door soliciting. RP turned them away and they left on foot but they did not stop at any other houses on his street. Officer checked the area and was unable to locate them.

Solicitor: 3 p.m. Morningside Drive. RP reported a solicitor in the area. Officers contacted the solicitor and advised them of the ordinance.

Solicitor: 3:07 p.m. Sequoia Drive and Grove Hill Avenue North. RP reported a vehicle dropped off several solicitors. Officers contacted them and advised them of the ordinance.

Solicitor: 3:25 p.m. San Francisco Blvd. RP reported a solicitor in the area. Officer checked the area with negative results.

Solicitor: 3:37 p.m. Mountain View Avenue and Sir Francis Drake Blvd. RP reported several solicitors were in the area. Information was taken as beat information.

 

Wednesday, Feb. 6 

Suspicious circumstances: 4:18 a.m. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. RP reported he saw a male subject who was chasing a raccoon, possibly to kill it. Officers checked the area with negative results.

Suspicious person: 10:21 a.m. San Anselmo Avenue. RP reported a female subject came into the business and yelled profanities at the RP. Officer checked the area and was unable to locate the subject.

Vandalism: 11:48 a.m. Rutherford Avenue. RP reported a family member came to his house caused a disturbance and damaged his fence. Officer contacted the RP and later was able to contact the family member.

Residential burglary: 4:43 p.m. Oak Knoll Avenue. RP reported a laptop was taken from the residence. An officer responded and took a report.

Solicitor: 4:51 p.m. Forbes Avenue. Anonymous citizen reported a solicitor came to his door and did not have a permit. Officer responded and checked the area with negative results.

Solicitor: 6:01 p.m. Oak Avenue. RP reported a solicitor came to her door earlier today and her story seemed suspicious. RP offered a contribution which the subject declined and tried to get the RP to write a check to purchase a magazine subscription. RP requested the area be checked for her. Officer checked the area with negative results.

 

Tuesday, Feb. 5

Petty theft: 8:38 p.m. Sir Francis Drake Bl. Business owner reported a theft last night that was caught on video. The caller was contacted and requested no further action at this time.

Bicycle: 9:47 a.m. Holstein Road. Resident reported a bicycle left in the front yard during the night. The blue and white Schwin, men’s 21 speed was taken to the SA Corp Yard.

Residential burglary: 12:07 p.m. Park Dr. 911 caller reported between9:45 a.m. and 12:06 p.m. someone entered via the unlocked back door of the residence and took an Apple Mac Book, laptop from the kitchen table. The resident was contacted and a report was taken.

Dog attack: 12:28 p.m. Brookside Drive. Caller reported a dog off leash attacked her dog and she fell and received a minor laceration on her hand. The resident was contacted and a report was taken.

Suspicious: 1:18 p.m. Morningside Drive. Between Feb. 3 and Feb. 5, someone entered her unlocked driver's side door and rifled through the vehicle's center console. Nothing appears to be missing. Resident did not want contact, and just wanted to report the incident.
