A Stick-Shaking Fairfax Neighbor and Four Guys Sharing a Bottle of Whiskey

The Fairfax police log for July 10-16 includes noise complaints, animal complaints, a burglary and a man wearing a clown nose allegedly accosting people downtown.

 

Monday, July 16

Locked inside: Rocca Drive. 10:07 a.m. Reporting person is locked inside her house (with a key stuck in the door on the outside).

Suspicious circumstances: Bennett House on Taylor Drive. 3:42 p.m. Reporting person received a phone call confirming his purchase of a computer. Caller hadn’t bought a computer and wanted the information noted in case he encounters any problems from the incident.

Alcohol violation: Parkade on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. and Claus Drive. 4:47 p.m. Reporting person said four “scruffy” homeless-looking men were sitting on the steps on the Parkade, passing a pint bottle of whiskey back and forth.

Theft: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 5:17 p.m. Reporting person said a subject ransacked her apartment and took property.

Lost phone: Bolinas Road and Broadway. 7:16 p.m. Caller lost his cell phone around 11 a.m. today. It’s a black Samsung Galaxy in a red protector.

Fireworks: Willow Avenue. 8:54 p.m. Sounds like firecrackers, also a crackling sound that may be the “safe & sane” fireworks. Caller is concerned about the fire hazard.

Noise complaint: Lydia’s Kitchen on Bolinas Road. 11:09 p.m. A refrigerator truck has been running for a couple of hours. Officer found the refrigerator unit was running but nobody was around. Dayshift to follow-up on the complaint.

 

Sunday, July 15

Noise complaint: Olema Road. 12:09 a.m. Caller says the party that has been going on all day is way too loud.

Animal complaint: Frustuck Avenue. 10:33 a.m. Reporting person said there was a subject walking a dog off leash. The dog was jumping on the reporting person’s car. When she told the owner to put it on a leash, the owner ignored her and continued up the hill. The owner is a female, possibly in her 60s, and the dog looks like a long-haired schnauzer .

Burglary: Dominga Avenue. 10:53 a.m. Reporting person’s vehicle has been broken into twice recently.

Open container violation: Peri Park. 7:45 p.m. Officer initiated activity with five subjects. Two citations were issued for open containers.

Civil problem: Bolinas Road. 8:39 p.m. Reporting person is frustrated with neighbors who leave items out for “free” and wants the objects removed/neighbors counseled. Neighbor contacted, will remove items tomorrow morning.

Noise complaint: Doc Edgar Park on Cascade Drive and Cypress. 11:02 p.m. One loud sound, possibly a firecracker or a gunshot. No other sounds heard. Officer checked the area.

 

Saturday, July 14

Noise complaint: Robinhood Manor Apartments on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 3:04 a.m. Reporting person said the neighbor above him is playing his TV too loudly and isn’t coming to the door when the reporting person attempts to contact him to turn it down. He would like an officer to respond and attempt to contact the neighbor.

Town code violation: Cascade Drive and Hickory Road. 1:54 p.m. Garage sale going on in the park.

Fireworks: Gomez Field on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 7:38 p.m. Reporting person said someone is lighting off fireworks near Gomez Field or White Hill School. Caller is concerned over the fire danger.

Public intoxication: Gestault Haus on Bolinas Road. 10:44 p.m. An unwanted subject, a male in a plaid shirt, is refusing to leave and being belligerent.

Disturbance: Shady Brook Apartments on Merwin Avenue. 11:20 p.m. Anonymous caller advised of a fight, possibly physical.

 

Friday, July 13

Prowler: Dominga Avenue. 12:55 a.m. Someone heard on the stairs.

Noise complaint: Good Earth on Center Blvd. 5:20 a.m. Reporting person would like to file a complaint about the noise from the delivery trucks.

Disturbance: Creekside Apartments on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 11:15 a.m. Verbal argument heard between a male and female. Unknown if their kids are home.

Citizen assist: Hickory Road. 2:07 p.m. On Monday evening the reporting person was riding her bike down the road when her neighbor’s dog ran in front of her, causing the reporting person to fall and break her arm.

Parking complaint: Cascade Drive. 10:08 p.m. Reporting person said there are numerous cars parked in the neighborhood. She would like an officer to double check for clearance issues. Cars there are apparently from a party in the area.

Lost wallet: Pavilion on Bolinas Road. 11:32 p.m. Reporting person’s husband lost his wallet somewhere between the pavilion and 150 Bolinas. She/they would appreciate a call if it’s located.

 

Thursday, July 12

Abandoned vehicle: Arroyo Road. 6:01 a.m. Reporting person said there is a vehicle parked along the creek with a female sleeping inside.

Beehive: Manzanita Road. 3:37 p.m. Large beehive in the area.

Traffic complaint: Mountain View Road. 3:57 p.m. White/red Macy’s truck reversing down Mountain View toward Manzanita, bringing down tree branches.

Animal complaint: Good Earth on Center Blvd. 5:01 p.m. Officer initiated activity regarding dogs in the car.

 

Wednesday, July 11

Insanity case: 19 Broadway on Broadway. Subject placed on a 72-hour hold.

Town code violation: Good Earth on Center Blvd. 5:20 a.m. Too many delivery trucks delivering at the same time in the parking lot.

Animal complaint: Marin Alliance Merchandise on Scenic Road. 9:43 p.m. Report of two possibly dangerous dogs off-leash. Officers responded and determined that both dogs were in possession of their owner and currently posed no threat.

Threats: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 10:54 p.m. Reporting person said her teenage daughter was just verbally assaulted by a neighbor who also shook a stick at the daughter. Caller said there is an ongoing dispute with this neighbor. The other party then called 911.

 

Tuesday, July 10

Animal complaint: Sequoia Road and Spruce Road. 10:39 a.m. A large black dog aggressively attacked her dog. She does not believe the dog is injured, but the other dog is standing in the middle of the street and no one seems to be connected to it.

Hazard: Willow Avenue. 12:33 p.m. Reporting person called about an overgrown tree that forces people into the street, thereby creating a hazardous situation. She requested the owner be notified of the problem so that he can cut it back.

Woof: Bay Road. 6:21 p.m. Reporting person called about an ongoing problem with a neighbor’s barking dog.

Suspicious person: Broadway. 7:33 p.m. A man in his 30s is wearing a clown nose and accosting people in the downtown. Subject offered the reporting person and his friend some plums and when they rejected the offer he insisted, several times, to the point of following them. Subject has a black dog with him.
