Bicyclist Injured in Solo-Crash Near Marin-Sonoma County Border

Cyclist crashed on Chileno Valley Road, southwest of Petaluma, while riding with a group Saturday morning.

 

A bicyclist part the Emigrant Trails Bike Trek in the North Bay was airlifted to a hospital after a solo-crash on a Marin County road near the Marin-Sonoma county border this morning, a Marin County Fire Department engineer said.

Fire crews responded to a bicycle crash on Chileno Valley Road near the San Antonio Creek bridge, just southwest of Petaluma, fire engineer Bryan Lewis said.

Marin County firefighters responded to the scene at 10:16 a.m. and assisted in getting the male bicyclist inside a REACH air ambulance, according to Petaluma360.com

The man was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries, Lewis said. Lewis said no other bicyclists were part of the crash or injured on the paved road.

The engineer said the bicyclist was part of a group ride and did not appear to be racing.
