Boy Found at North Bay High School Suffers Critical Head Injuries

Santa Rosa police are investigating what happened to a Maria Carillo High School student who was found injured and unconscious at Montgomery High School on Saturday.

The 15-year-old boy was found by a resident walking through the 1250 Hahman Drive campus shortly before 4 p.m., according to Sgt. John Cregan.

He was found lying unconscious on the pavement near the east side of the gymnasium, with a traumatic head injury and heavy bleeding, as well as cuts and bruises on his arms and hands, Cregan said.

The boy had no identification, but was identified several hours later after his father, who had seen an online article about the unidentified injured juvenile, called police.

He was taken to the hospital with critical injuries and his identity is being withheld due to his age, police said.

The boy lives near Montgomery, but does not attend the school, police said.

The cause of the boy's injuries remains under investigation at this time, and it is not clear whether he was the victim of violent crime, Cregan said Sunday.
