A body was found at the scene of a vehicle that went down an embankment on state Highway 1 just north of Fairfax-Bolinas Road in West Marin County, according top the California Highway Patrol.
The Marin County Search and Rescue team was called to the scene around 10:30 a.m.
The doors of the vehicle were open and the vehicle's air bags had been deployed, the CHP said.
The incident reported as a vehicle down an embankment with unknown injuries at 10:22 a.m. was changed to a fatality around 12:40 p.m.
