Cop log: Fairfax’s Not-so-Neighborly Neighbors

The Fairfax cop log for May 29-31 includes multiple neighbor disputes.

 

Thursday, May 31

Screaming: Banchero Way. 12:11 a.m. Report of a subject screaming intermittently. Sounds like it’s coming from Cascade Canyon school or up in the hills behind the premises.

Citizen assist: Bolinas Road. 7:53 a.m. Caller requested advice on her liabilities while having a guest in her home who has a medical marijuana card.

Mysterious photo: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 8:45 a.m. Reporting person said she received a photo on her cell phone of a subject holding her items inside her house. Caller said now those items are missing. No evidence of forced entry at the residence.

Threats: Azalea Avenue. 10:14 a.m. Caller said her neighbor has been threatening her.

Insanity case: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 1:56 p.m. Reporting person said the resident in an apartment was screaming and could be heard throughout the complex.

Profanity screaming: Bolinas Road and Broadway. 2:53 p.m. Reporting person said a subject asked him for money and then screamed profanities at him.

Hunting knife gestures: Sir Francis Drake Blvd and Claus Drive. Caller said she watched a man in a white pick-up truck making strange gestures with a hunting knife.

Shot bird: Frustuck Avenue. 5:23 p.m. Caller said he found a shot bird in his yard.

Public intoxication: Cascade Drive. 10:02 p.m. Caller said a young female wearing only a camisole top is running up and down the street, sitting in the middle of the roadway, asking for the time but otherwise not making any sense. Officers and medical/fire responded and determined the subject was under the influence. Subject was transported to Marin General Hospital.

 

Wednesday, May 30

Abandoned vehicle: Maple Avenue and Willow Avenue. 8:33 a.m. Anonymous complaint of a white vehicle with a rack on top that hasn’t moved in a week. Caller has seen it before but doesn’t know who owns it.

Man harassing people: Bolinas Road and Mono Avenue. 9:04 a.m. Traffic complaint and welfare check for a man wandering in the street and harassing people. Subject appears disoriented. Subject, in his early 40’s with brown thinning hair, looks like he slept in the bushes last night.

Found property: Porteous Avenue. 9:10 a.m. Reporting person found a weed wacker. Will it keep at home and wants the police to know in case someone reports one lost or stolen.

Unpleasant neighbor encounter: Live Oak Avenue. 9:58 a.m. Caller requested a log entry to an unpleasant encounter she had with a neighbor earlier. The encounter was a dispute over a problem between their dogs that took place two years ago. Caller wanted a log entry to document the incident and didn’t want an officer response.

Stagnant construction trailer: Canyon Road and Cascade Drive. 11:09 a.m. Anonymous complaint that a construction trailer hasn’t moved in six days.

White-foamy substance on car: Azalea Avenue. 1:40 p.m. Caller saw a white and foamy substance on top of her car. She doesn’t know who put it there. When she began to hose it off, the neighbor her husband had been disputing with earlier came out with a camera and photographed it. Caller just wanted a log entry.

Loud little league: Bank Street. 6:48 p.m. The little league announcing is too loud. Officers advised responsibles of complaint.

Citizen Assist: Redwood Road. 11:47 p.m. Reporting person’s partner left on a bicycle ride five hours ago. Caller hasn’t heard or seen from him since. While on the phone with the RP the subject returned home.

 

Tuesday, May 29 

Animal problem: Sequoia Road. 8:31 a.m. Two dogs are playing in the reporting person’s backyard. Caller has seen them in the neighborhood before but doesn’t know who owns them.

Suspicious circumstance: Bolinas Road. 12:34 p.m. Caller believes somebody is tapping into information on her phone. Advice was given.

Welfare Check: Bolinas Road. 1:51 p.m. Reporting person has joint custody over his 5-year-old daughter but hasn’t been able to reach her for five weeks. Her whereabouts are unknown to him. An officer determined the child attended school today.

911 question: Azalea Avenue. 3:21 p.m. Reporting person called 911 to ask for the non-emergency number.

Fence kicking: Azalea Avenue.  3:24 p.m. Reporting person put up a deer fence on his property. A neighbor kicked over the fence, causing damage to the fence. Officer determined it was a civil dispute over the property line.

Civil problem: Azalea Avenue. 6:13 p.m. Subject dialed 911 for the second time today for an admitted non-emergency. Subject was warned not to do this.

Campaign sign issue: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 11:57 p.m. Complaint of a subject taking down campaign signs. Tall and thin, unknown if male or female.
