Cyclist Arrested After Refusing to Sign a Traffic Violation Citation

The Fairfax police log from Aug. 10-13 includes roosters crowing and lots of dogs gone wild.

 

Monday, August 13

Dog on the courts: 9:44 a.m. Peri Park on Park Road. Large dog off leash at the tennis courts. This is an ongoing issue at roughly the same time every day. The responsible also has a small child with her.

Barking dog: 10:22 a.m. Spring Lane. The dog there has been barking since before 6 a.m. Reporting person attempted to contact the owner, but no one answered the door. Response card was left for the owner.

Loose dog: 11:45 a.m. Anonymous reporting person said there’s a loose dog. Reporting person feels the dog may be dangerous and would like the owner advised to keep in contained.

Burglary: 12:14 p.m. Fairfax Plaza on Center Blvd. Reporting person said his car window was broken and a computer was stolen while it was parked in the lot, near the Post Office.

Animal complaint: 1:09 p.m. Park Road. Reporting person said he was almost attacked by an off leash dog that did not respond to calls from its owner. Caller said the dog was black with short hair, possibly a mutt. Its owner has long blond hair and a cowboy hat and is still in the park with a dog.

Animal complaint: 1:19 p.m. Good Earth on Center Blvd. Reporting person advised there is a dog in the car with the windows barely cracked. Reporting person said people told the owners it was an issue, but the owners said the dog is fine and went into the store. The dog is in the car howling.

Vehicle accident: 5:44 p.m. Willow Avenue. Reporting person said someone ran into her car door. She would like an officer to respond and assist them in exchanging information.

Bicycle stop: 10:17 p.m. Baywood Court. Bicycle stop for a traffic violation. Bicyclist refused to sign the citation. Bicyclist was subsequently arrested and booked into Marin County Jail.

Baking dog: 12:26 a.m. Creek Road. Caller said a dog is barking again.

Suspicious vehicle: 12:44 a.m. Merwin Avenue. Officer initiated activity.

Driving on a suspended license: 1:27 a.m. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. and Pastori Avenue. Subject was cited for driving on a suspended license.

Suspicious vehicle: 6:01 p.m. Scenic Road. Officer initiated activity. Log entry only.

 

Saturday, August 11

Disturbance: 1:07 a.m. Wood Lane. Possible assault or physical fight.

Noise complaint: 1:11 a.m. Bolinas Road and Broadway. Reporting person called complaining of an ongoing problem with the volume level from the downtown bars. Reporting person wishes to file a formal complaint.

Barking dog: 2:15 a.m. Dominga Avenue. Reporting person said his neighbor’s dog is barking nonstop.

Hot tub party: 3:06 a.m. Cascade Drive. Reporting person said a neighbor is having an excessively loud hot tub party. She would appreciate the noise being brought down.

Traffic complaint: 12:56 p.m. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. and Oak Manor. The Marin County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a subject stating the traffic signal is taking too long and they believe the timing is off. Disposition: unfounded.

Bicyclist complaint: 4:10 p.m. Center Blvd. Complaint of bicyclists failing to yield to pedestrians at the crosswalk as well as riding on the sidewalk. Disposition: extra patrol.

Burglary: 6:36 p.m. Fairfax Theatre on Broadway. Employee said one vehicle was broken into. Unknown if owner is aware, possibly still in a movie.

Burglary: 6:37 p.m. Mitchell Drive. Reporting person’s purse was stolen from her vehicle.

Threats: 7:14 p.m. Rocca Drive. Reporting person was walking her dog roughly 15 minutes ago and was threatened by another dog owner in the area.

Disturbance: 9:50 p.m. Park Road. Reporting person is having problems with a downstairs neighbor spraying water all over her belongings.

Noise complaint: 10:53 p.m. Creek Road. Reporting person said a neighbor’s dog is barking nonstop.

Noise complaint: 11:22 p.m. Naves Bar & Grill on Bolinas Road. Complaint that the doors of Nave’s are open and the music is way too loud.

 

Friday, August 10

DUI: 12:02 a.m. Center Blvd and Pastori Avenue. Officer initiated activity. Arrest made.

Noise complaint: 12:43 a.m. Bolinas Road and Broadway. Reporting person said the music from the downtown bars is way too loud.

Noise complaint: 1:50 a.m. Glen Drive. Reporting person reported a loud party at the address, as well as extremely noisy subjects getting into their cars, honking horns and driving away.

Barking dog: 6:43 a.m. Rocca Drive. Reporting person said a dog has started howling again.

Animal complaint: 7:51 a.m. Tamalpais Road. Anonymous reporting person complained of roosters crowing in the area.

Vehicle accident: 9:08 a.m. Center Blvd. 99 Saab vs. Dodge Ram truck. Reporting person stopped at the crosswalk and was rear ended.

Neighbor doesn’t pick up after dog: 9:17 a.m. Frustuck Avenue. Anonymous complaint of a neighbor who does not pick up after his dog when it defecates in the roadway. Caller said this occurs every morning around 9 a.m.

Bike theft: 1:47 p.m. Lanai Apartments on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Reporting person’s bicycle was stolen sometime between Aug. 7 and 8. It’s a Schwinn Cruiser, black and white, worth around $250.

Four dogs: 2:30 p.m. Good Earth on Center Blvd. Requesting a welfare check on four dogs in the back of a red pickup truck in the parking lot. It’s very hot outside; caller is concerned for the dogs’ safety.

Disturbance: 5:54 p.m. Bothin Road. Reporting person and her husband were in an argument this evening. The husband is upset and would like to speak with an officer. Reporting person said he has gotten physical in the past.

Theft: 10:17 p.m. Lanai Apartments on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Reporting person just recovered her (previously) stolen bicycle from two men in the rear of the apartment complex.

Juvenile problem: 11:40 p.m. White Hill Middle School on Glen Drive. Report of juveniles gathered in the construction site next to the school.
