Fairfax Police: Coyotes, Farmers Market Signs Vandalized, Possible Gun

Thursday, Aug. 18 

Overdue Subject: Family members requested that officers be on the lookout for a resident who was overdue coming home at 12:38 a.m.

Unwanted Subject: A subject asked to leave 19 Broadway came back at 1:26 a.m. and there was concern he might start a fight.

Restraining Order Violation: A resident received calls in violation of a restraining order.

Sleeper: A subject was sleeping in Fairfax Park at 8:24 a.m.

Animal: There were five or six coyotes hunting in the area of Manor School the day before.

Suspicious Circumstances: There was possible drug activity on Acacia Road at 11:44 a.m.

Animal: There was an injured deer on Willow Avenue at 12:55 p.m.

Threats: A subject made threatening statements to an employee on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 1 p.m. The subject was told stay out of the business.

Theft: A bundle of mail was found at Scenic and Arroyo Roads at 7:04 p.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: There was a suspicious car with passengers possibly trying to exit the moving vehicle at the Fairfax Library at 8:11 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 17

Town Code Violation: An officer initiated activity on Contratti Field at 2:22 a.m.

Sleeper: There was a subject sleeping in the Pavilion parking lot at 5:49 a.m.

Hit and Run: A fence was hit on Willow Avenue sometime overnight.

Vandalism: Farmers Market signs were being vandalized.

Noise: There were complaints about a loud generator at the Farmers Market.

Juvenile: There was a juvenile shooting a pellet gun/rifle into the creek off of Creek Road at 7:49 p.m.

Animal: A resident reported that a coyote was sitting in her backyard and staring at her on Bay Road. She then determined it was just a fox.

Tuesday, Aug. 16

Noise: Subjects were hanging out and skateboarding at the Youth Center at 12:13 a.m.

Fire: There was a vegetation fire on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, west of Shadow Creek, at 12:56 a.m.

Barking Dog: A dog was barking on Spruce Road at 1:59 a.m.

Disturbance: A resident on Valley Road went to put her cat out at 2:44 a.m. and a car drove by with two subjects, who swore at her and called her names.

Theft: A resident reported items missing from her residence on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and she thinks her boyfriend took them after an argument the night before.

Disturbance: There was a verbal argument over a bicyclist riding on the sidewalk by the post office at 1:47 p.m.

Disturbance: A resident had an argument with an employee at Sunshine Bikes over the rules of the road at 2:27 p.m.

Public Intoxication: A possibly intoxicated man was walking on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, near Oak Manor at 5:54 p.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident was yelled at by a woman on Redwood Road at 6:01 p.m.

Disturbance: There were subjects fighting on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 9:17 p.m.

Welfare Check: A subject was walking down Cascade Drive screaming racial slurs at 9:53 p.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident reported a woman screaming stop and crying on Meernaa Avenue at 11:24 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 15

Noise: A resident reported that her neighbors upstairs drink and make a lot of noise every night on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. They were dancing and jumping at 1:12 a.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: A subject was kneeling and drilling out the locks on the collection boxes outside the post office. Officers determined he was an employee replacing the locks.

Suspicious Circumstances: Several subjects in a car yelled at a pedestrian at Gomez Field and pointed something that looked like a gun out the window and fired it. There was a loud bang, but no indication that anything was hit.

Animal: There was a coyote running down the middle of Olema Road at 8:09 p.m.

Public Intoxication: A subject was standing outside the Gestault Haus yelling and was possibly intoxicated at 8:24 p.m. Officers contacted the subject, who was not intoxicated.

Suspicious Circumstances: Two juveniles were walking up from the creek at Peri Park and trying doors on cars.

Disturbance: A possible domestic disturbance was reported on Bolinas Road at 8:57 p.m. It was determined it was a mother-daughter dispute. Another subject at the residence was issued a restraining order.

Town Code Violation: A subject was warned for being in Peri Park after dark.
