Fairfax Police: Disruptive residents, suspicious man tries to lure student into van

Wednesday, Aug. 18

Barking Dog: A dog on Creek Road was barking from midnight to 2 a.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: The dean of students at Marin Catholic reported that one of his students was walking to the bus stop on Manor Road in the morning when a man in his late 60s attempted to lure the student into his van.

Theft: A woman had her wallet stolen at 19 Broadway between midnight and 1 a.m. She saw a subject loitering around her purse during that time.

Warrant Criminal: An arrest was made at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Olema Road at 2:55 p.m.

Threats: A threatening letter was left on a resident's car on Claus Circle.

Noise: A man was interfering with business at Fairfax Scoop at 5:03 p.m., because he was scaring people away with his loud behavior.

Unwanted Subject: A subject kept coming around to the Fairfax Park and yelling obscenities at people.

Theft: An employee had a shoplifter detained at the Fairfax Market at 6:45 p.m.

Suspicious Vehicle: There was a suspicious vehicle at the Fairfax Library at 10:36 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 17

With Subjects: An officer was with four subjects at the creek at Pacheco and Inyo Avenues at 12:40 p.m.

Trespassing: A resident was gardening at the gardens at the Fairfax Library at 3:56 p.m. and a man entered the gardens. She told him he wasn't supposed to be there and he became agitated and called her names. She would like him located and told not to come on the premises again.

Monday, Aug. 16

Suspicious Person: An officer saw a juvenile on foot at Bridge Court at 1:16 a.m. The juvenile ran away and officers were not able to locate him. There were no signs of vandalism or theft.

Theft: Two scooters were taken from an open garage.

Found: A key with a guitar key chain was brought in.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident overheard a man ask a passerby if he wanted to buy marijuana at the Women's Club at 9:35 p.m. The passerby said no, threatened the dealer, and left.

Disturbance: There was a report of a man screaming obscenities at a woman behind Don's Market at 10:20 p.m.

Fire: There was an electrical fire in a kitchen on Iron Springs Road at 11:55 p.m.
