Fairfax Police: GPS App Tracks Down Phone, Child Hit While Biking

The following information was provided by the Fairfax Police Department. It does not indicate conviction.

Thursday, Sept. 1

With Subjects: Officers were out with subjects on Broadway Avenue at 2:57 a.m.

Citizen Assist: There were missing or possibly stolen bike tires on Bolinas Road.

Noise: There is an ongoing issue with neighbors honking to indicate they are home on Chester Avenue.

Assist Outside Agency: A resident reported that she lost her iPhone early Wednesday morning at Nave’s. She then signed up for a GPS tracking application that showed her phone was in the apartment complex across from the Fairfax Coin Car Wash.

Suspicious Circumstances: A woman was sitting in front of Nave’s hitting herself in the head at 4:56 p.m.

Insanity Case: A subject was screaming on Bolinas Road at 8:17 p.m.

Barking Dog: A dog had been barking for 45 minutes on Pine Drive at 10:43 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 31

Disturbance: A resident requested assistance with a relative who was refusing to leave the premises on Marin Road at 12:34 a.m.

Town Code Violation: Construction started on Live Oak Road before 8 a.m. It’s an ongoing problem.

Hit and Run: A student reported to the school office they were hit on their bike in front of the Fairfax Library earlier that morning. The driver then fled the area.

Suspicious Vehicle: An officer initiated activity at the top of Marinda Drive at 12:53 p.m.

Warrant Criminal: An officer initiated activity on Pine Drive at 4:17 p.m.

Theft: Two residents came into the police department to report locked bikes stolen from in front of Iron Springs while they were inside.

Suspicious Person: A man was possibly trying to look into houses on Bolinas Road at 7:41 p.m. A resident closed the door and saw him at the top of the stops and he turned and left.

Public Intoxication: A subject was arrested for public intoxication on Broadway Avenue at 11:53 p.m. and booked into the county jail.

Tuesday, Aug. 30 

Town Code Violation: There was a subject camping at the rear of St. Rita’s at 9:16 a.m.

Unwanted Subject: There was an unwanted subject at the 7-11 at 11:21 a.m.

Hazard: There was a water line break in the road at Wood Lane and Porteous Avenue at 2:08 p.m.

Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on a Fairfax resident on Hillside Drive at 7:03 p.m.

Disturbance: A woman was hitting a car with a baseball bat on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 10:32 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 29

Suspicious Vehicle: An officer initiated activity at the Pavilion at 12:10 a.m.

Warrant Criminal: A subject was arrested at the police department and booked into the county jail at 3:13 a.m.

Vandalism: There was graffiti on the wall at White Hill.

Disturbance: A resident requested assistance with a family dispute on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 8:45 a.m.

Barking Dog: A resident reported that two dogs were barking nonstop on Pine Drive and he would like to sign a citizen’s arrest.

Threats: An officer initiated activity on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 9:08 a.m.

Town Code Violation: A subject was cited for possession of an open container at the Pavilion at 7:43 p.m.

Welfare Check: An officer conducted a welfare check on a subject in the police department lobby at 8:53 p.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: A subject at the 7-11 appeared to be trying to use the ATM as a computer.

Town Code Violation: Subjects were in Fairfax Park after dark, by the picnic tables, at 10:37 p.m.
