Fairfax Police: Possible Gunshots, Car in Ditch, Fake Check

The following information was provided by the Fairfax Police Department. It does not indicate conviction.

The following is a partial report of police activity as reported by the from Nov. 11 to 13. The police logs are public record and available at the department's website.

Friday, Nov. 11

Suspicious Vehicle: An officer initiated activity on Mitchell lane at 12:28 a.m.

Public Intoxication: Someone was trying to enter a resident’s apartment at the Sherwood Oaks Apartments by picking the lock at 1:05 a.m. The resident’s husband went outside to confront the person and the subject was booked into the county jail for being drunk in public.

Noise: There was loud live music and lots of yelling coming from Peri’s at 1:39 a.m.

Animal: A resident’s two dogs got out around 1:30 a.m. in Ross and the last time went to Deer Park.

Suspicious Circumstances: An officer on patrol located an unsecured building on Bolinas Road at 3:37 a.m.

Vandalism: A resident wanted to speak with an officer about a family member, who entered her apartment and threw things around the day before.

Accident: There was a solo-vehicle collision at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Azalea Avenue at 7:09 p.m. and a car was partially on the road and partially in a ditch.

Theft: A resident walked in to the police department and reported a theft of a purse two hours ago at 123 Bolinas.

Unwanted Subject: Two subjects in front of Quality Liquors were drunk and asking people to buy liquor for them.

Noise: Numerous residents reported two or three loud sounds heard by the Marin Alliance, possibly gunshots, at 11:23 p.m. Something fell immediately afterward, possibly a tree branch. Different residents reported possible locations on Scenic, Sequoia, Manor, Midway, Park and at the library. All locations were checked.

Saturday, Nov. 12

Fraud: A resident reported that another subject wrote him a check on a previously closed account to repay a loan. The subject has now moved and the resident can’t locate him.

Suspicious Person: A subject was outside a restaurant on Center Boulevard yelling at people and behaving in an aggressive fashion and trying to pick a fight at 4:53 p.m. The subject started walking towards downtown, carrying a guitar and clipboard.

Fire: A resident reported her stove is on fire on Ace Court.

Unwanted Subjects: A subject, who had previously been warned to stay away from Quality Liquors, keeps coming back to the store and harassing the clerk.

Suspicious Person: A subject was sitting in the dark on the pathway on Dominga Avenue and appeared to be hiding or in need of assistance at 7:31 p.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident left the house unlocked when they went out to dinner and came back and found items disturbed on Dominga Avenue.

Suspicious Circumstances: The front door was wide open and lights were on at a residence on Pine Drive. Music was playing and had been playing the same music for over 12 hours. Officers found no one inside.

Sunday, Nov. 13

Found: A resident turned in a black jacket he found with an iPhone in the pocket.

Theft: Two female juveniles possibly took earrings while in the dressing room at Yeah Baby.

Disturbance: A subject was drinking and making threats on Park Road at 4:20 p.m. He was contacted and cited for having an open container.

Trespassing: An unwanted subject was contacted and given a trespassing warning at Gestalt Haus.

Unwanted Subject: An unwanted person continues to hang around outside Peri’s at 9:53 p.m.
