Fairfax Police: Stolen Bike Riding Down Street, Fight on Broadway

The following information was provided by the Fairfax Police Department. It does not indicate conviction.

Sunday, Aug. 21

Noise: There was a complaint that a resident at the Bennett House has been “blaring” music for a few months.

Suspicious Vehicle: An officer initiated activity with a car at the Pavilion at 3:15 a.m.

Suspicious Person: There was an anonymous report of a man hanging out near the rear of a business on Mono Alley at 3:24 a.m.

Hazard: Someone has hidden the fire hydrant at Toyon Drive and Oak Road with several items.

Suspicious Person: A resident saw a suspicious man hiding behind some trees in Peri Park, who made several attempts to hide himself from the resident’s view.

Animal: A resident had a rattlesnake in her yard on Holly Road.

Theft: A bike was stolen from a garage on Forrest Avenue during the night.

Noise: After reading the Fairfax police logs about gunshots in the area, a resident wanted to report that she also heard gunshots in the area of Pine Drive on Aug. 13.

Alcohol Violation: An officer cited a subject with an open container at Broadway and Merwin Avenues at 7:16 p.m.

Noise: There was a loud party on Bay Road at 10 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 20

Hit and Run: A resident reported that a friend was hit by a car, but officers determined it was unfounded.

Restraining Order Violation: A resident has received threatening messages on her cell phone.

Shots Fired: There was a single loud sound like a shot fired or a car backfiring in the Laurel and Pine Drives area at 2:13 p.m.

Drug Violation: A resident found his son in possession of marijuana at the Marin Alliance.

Noise: There was loud drumming on Sequoia Road at 4:59 p.m.

Theft: A bike was reported stolen within the previous 20 minutes at 7:34 p.m. from the Sherwood Oaks Apartments.

Driving Under the Influence: A car was swerving all over the road on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 9:23 p.m. It passed into San Anselmo, so the call was relayed to the San Anselmo Police Department.

Theft: A resident saw a subject riding on Bolinas Road at 9:50 p.m. on a bike that looked like hers. When she arrived home to the Sherwood Oaks Apartments ten minutes later, she realized her bike lock had been cut and her bike was missing. The sliding door was also open and a backpack was missing.

Animal: An injured deer was in a resident’s driveway on Willow Avenue.

Public Intoxication: An officer was out with two subjects at Contratti Field at 11: 55 p.m. An arrest was made.

Friday, Aug. 19

Insanity Case: Officers contacted and evaluated a subject at Manzanita and Mountain View Roads at 10:42 a.m., who didn’t meet the criteria for a psych hold.

Suspicious Circumstances: A parked car appeared to have a baby inside on Glen Drive at 10:45 a.m.

Theft: A bike was stolen at Manor School.

Warrant Criminal: A trespasser was arrested for an outstanding warrant on Scenic Road at 3:53 p.m.

Animal: There were barking dogs and a possible scream at the Marin Alliance Merchandise on Scenic Road at 5:52 p.m. There was no merit to an emergency.

Theft: Gas was siphoned from a car on Olema Road at 6:43 p.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: There was a possible suicidal missing person. The subject was contacted and was not suicidal.

Disturbance: There were 8-10 people involved in a fight at Broadway Management on Broadway at 10:48 p.m. A subject was arrested and booked into the county jail on probation violation.

Suspicious Vehicle: A white van was driving suspiciously slow on Bothin Road at 11:30 p.m.
