Fairfax Resident Escapes Fire Unharmed

Cause still under investigation



A Fairfax resident escaped unharmed after a fire broke out in his home Saturday afternoon, in the 100 block of Chester Avenue. 

Firefighters from the Ross Valley Fire Department arrived around 1pm Saturday to find thick smoke showing from the front door of the three-unit residence. The damage was limited to the kitchen, living room of one unit and smoke damage throughout the structure.  The fire was controlled at 1:33 pm.  

The resident was examined and released at the scene for possible smoke inhalation. 5  residents were displaced.   

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
