Juveniles Shooting a BB Gun at Cyclists and Airsoft Gun Play Taken Too Seriously

The Fairfax Police blotter for April 19-23 includes a hitchhiker who left something unwelcome in a Fairfax woman's car.

 

Tuesday, April 23

Citizen assist: 9:57 a.m. Sequoia Road. RP’s neighbor’s dog was chasing a cat last night. In an attempt to scare the dog off, the RP (reporting person) pounded on the neighbor’s window, breaking the glass and cutting her hand in the process. RP would like advice due to a bill she has received from her neighbor to replace the broken window, but RP feels the neighbor’s aggressive dog is responsible for her reaction.

Welfare check: 1:55 p.m. Chester Avenue. RP picked up a female who looked exhausted. After she gave her a ride, she found the female had urinated in her car. The female lives on Chester Avenue. RP feels she may need help but may not want to ask for it.

Prowler: 10:30 p.m. Taylor Drive. Subject just came into the residence then fled.

Monday, April 22

Assault: 2:56 p.m. Picaroto Cleaners on Center Blvd. RP was pushed by a bicyclist while she was standing in front of a sign that says no bicycle riding on sidewalk. Rider described as in the 50’s with grey hair and a grey t-shirt.

Theft: 4:27 p.m. Shady Brook Apartments on Merwin Avenue. Bicycle was taken from the back of a pickup truck parked in the private lot. Bike was covered with a tarp.

Deer: 10 p.m. Northbay Gas in Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Anonymous walk-in report of a deer in the roadway, hit by a car.

 

Sunday, April 21 

DUI: 1:22 a.m. San Anselmo Avenue and Center Blvd. Driver arrested and booked into Marin County Jail for DUI.

Generic fire call: 9:45 a.m. Deer Park on Porteous Avenue. RP reported seeing what looked like the remains of a bonfire, still smoldering in the middle of the trail.

Public intoxication: 9:42 p.m. Bolinas Road. Subject arrested and booked into Marin County Jail for public intoxication.

 

Saturday, April 20

Unwanted subject: 6:12 a.m. Marinda Drive. RP requested we contact two people who appeared to have been camping in the open space. RP wanted them warned. The male subject was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and released. The female subject had been previously reported as a missing person.

Assist: 10:54 a.m. Olema Road. Marin County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance in responding to a report of three juveniles shooting a BB gun at passing cyclists.

Suspicious person: 12:57 p.m. Downtown on Bolinas Road and Broadway. Subject walking up to random people on the street and making threats. He said “I’ll break every bone in your body.”

Suspicious circumstances: 6:49 p.m. Mountain View Road. RP heard screaming in distressed voices. A female yelled, “put the gun down.” It turned out to be teenagers playing with Airsoft guns during a birthday party.

Stolen vehicle: 9:09 p.m. Java Hut on Center Blvd. He parked the car in the parking lot around 6:20 p.m. and they went into a movie. RP parked between Java Hut and the apartments. RP returned and discovered the car was gone.

Disturbance: 9:42 p.m. Northbay Gas on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Two calls reporting a physical fight. One RP thought it was a male and a female. Officers determined it was a verbal argument only.

 

Friday, April 19

Snake: 4:46 p.m.  Marinda Drive. RP requested assistance with a snake. She is afraid the Humane Society will take too long. RP cancelled after a neighbor removed the snake.
