Missing Assault Victim Located

Fairfax resident charged with assault and domestic violence.

Following an incident on Friday night, Nov. 26, when a Fairfax resident witnessed an assault outside DeMaestri's Garage, . The witness reported seeing a man punching and kicking another subject, but when the witness turned the car around and returned to the scene the person who had been under attack was gone. 

However, Fairfax Cpl. Roberson reported that another witness came forward and identified the woman who had been under attack. Police officers then contacted the woman, who remains anonymous in police reports, and concluded it was a case of domestic violence, said Roberson.

Both the woman and the second witness left the scene before the initial reporting party was able to return, said police.

At the time, Trevor Maldonado, 27, of Antelope, was booked on public intoxication and suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. He was held on $50,000 bail.

Following the investigation, the District Attorney's office filed three felony charges against Maldonado. He was charged with one count of domestic violence and two counts of felony assault against two different victims.
