Not So Fast… Marin Burglary Suspects ID’d Fleeing Home are Arrested Soon After

Marin County sheriff's deputies arrested two men Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of burglarizing a Kentfield home.

A resident of Buckeye Way was returning home at about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday when he saw a silver Volkswagen Passat driven by a man he didn't know leaving his driveway, sheriff's Lt. Janie Scardina said.

He also noticed another man running out the back of the home and up a hillside, Scardina said.

The resident was able to get a description of the Passat, including the license plate, according to Scardina.

Deputies responded and determined that the home had been ransacked, and set up a perimeter and searched nearby roads in the Kent Woodlands neighborhood, Scardina said.

The suspect seen running up the hillside was found hiding in the backyard of the home on Rock Road, and the suspect who drove away in the  Passat was later found at the Gateway Shopping Center in Marin City, Scardina said.

The suspects - identified as Lebraun Wallace, 22, of Marin City, and Julius Mack, 26, of San Francisco - were arrested and booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy, according to the sheriff's office.

Investigators are looking into whether the two men are responsible or other residential burglaries in Marin County, Scardina said.
