Peeping Tom Suspected at Two Farmer's Markets
The suspect arrested at Wednedays Fairfax Farmer's Market for allegedly videotaping under women's skirts, matches photo of suspect at the Civic Center market.
The man arrested at the Fairfax Farmers Market for allegedly attaching a camera on his shoe top to shoot video under women’s skirts might be responsible for trying to do the same thing at the Marin Civic Center Farmers Market, police said Thursday.
Opening-day Fairfax market attendees got suspicious Wednesday when they noticed a man placing his foot near women in skirts and notified the market’s management, who observed the same act and called police.
Nicholas Charles Springer, 26, of San Rafael was booked on suspicion of using a concealed camera to videotape for lewd purposes, a misdemeanor. He was held in Marin County Jail on an unrelated probation violation, said Fairfax police Chief Chris Morin.

“He had the camera concealed in his sandal and was maneuvering himself next to women in skirts,” Morin said. “Because of the camera, his sandal wasn’t completely on his foot which was another reason it was suspicious.”
The Marin County Sherriff’s Office investigated a recent and similar report at the Marin Civic Center Farmers Market and had only a photograph of a suspect. Since Springer’s arrest, the photo confirms a match of their Fairfax suspect, Morin said.

Springer’s bail was set at $602 and he was to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
