Police: DUIs, No Parking at Fair-Anselm

Friday, Feb. 17

Vehicle Accident – No Injury: A car came around a corner at Dominga and Napa Avenues too fast, lost control and ran into a parked car at 1:41 a.m.

DUI: The driver who struck the parked car was arrested for DUI and booked into the county jail.

Suspicious Circumstances: Several homeless subjects with all their belongings moved into the bushes at the rear of the Pavilion, off of the ballfield. They may be setting up camp. Officers determined it was unfounded.

With Subjects: An officer initiated activity at the Parkade and gave a verbal warning at 2:21 p.m.

Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on a Fairfax resident on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 10:36 p.m.

With Subjects: An officer initiated activity on Sir Francis Drake Bouevard at 10:36 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 18

DUI: A subject was arrested for driving under the influence at Center Boulevard and Pastori Avenue at 2:37 a.m. and was booked into the county jail.

Noise: Someone was using a leafblower at the Fairfax Plaza at 6:46 a.m.

Found: A bike was found by Beach House Style and brought in.

Town Code Violation: A group of young adults were soliciting door to door on Willow Avenue and didn’t have a permit.

Citizen Assist: A child was locked in a car in the west lot on Center Boulevard and the father was attempting to open the car.

Suspicious Person: A suspicious subject was yelling and screaming for no apparent reason, walking around the downtown area at 5:45 p.m.

Assist: The Sheriff’s office requested assistance checking for a dirt bike rider that fled from their open space deputy off of Glen Drive.

Sunday, Feb. 19

Suspicious Person: There was a possibly homeless man coming out of the creek area off of Cascade Drive, cussing loudly, at 10:46 a.m. He had a shopping car full of belongings. An arrest was made.

Misdial: A business owner at Fair-Anselm called to complain about losing customers because of a lack of parking since the new Good Earth opened up. He was advised to call back on the non-emergency line.

Garbage Complaint: An unknown subject has left clothing and miscellaneous items in front of a property on Willow Avenue.

Noise: There was excessively loud noise that sounded like a go-cart motor in a garage on Forrest Terrace at 3:36 p.m.

Juveniles: Two juveniles were on the rooftop of Manor School at 4:04 p.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: A crash was heard outside a resident’s apartment on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 6:34 p.m. She walked outside and saw a pickup truck driving away.

Unwanted Subject: An employee at Fairfax Market came in to make a purchase after he had been repeatedly asked to not enter the business. He was told he wasn’t allowed in the store and became irritated.

Suspicious Vehicle: An officer initiated activity with a car at Fairfax Lumber and Hardware at 8:23 p.m.

Noise: There was excessively loud noise from a birthday party on Meernaa Avenue at 10 p.m.

With Subjects: An officer initiated activity with a subject at the Fairfax Theater at 10:35 pm.

Disturbance: There was a verbal altercation between a resident and her boyfriend on Charro Way at 10:36 p.m.

Assist Outside Agency: A resident reported to the sheriff’s officer that she heard footsteps on the gravel at the rear of her premises on Estates Drive at 11:40 p.m.

Monday, Feb. 20

Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on a resident on Charro Way.

Lost/Stolen: A wallet was lost in the downtown area the day before.

Suspicious Circumstances: A woman jumped onto the balcony and tried to get into a residence on Taylor Drive. Officers determined it was a caregiver who had forgotten her keys at home.

Suspicious Person: A man was carrying a sleeping bag, tarp, and comforter while walking down Cascade Drive towards town. Officers determined the man was removing his items from the area.

Unwanted Subject: A homeless person was living under the bridge on Meadow Way. Officers found a shopping cart, but no person. They left a note for him to remove his things.

Unwanted Subject: A person who was arrested the day  before was reported under the bridge on Meadow Way singing and making noise at 3:33 pm. Officers found he had left the area.

Assist Outside Agency: The San Anselmo Police requested assistance with a physical altercation that occurred in their jurisdiction at Drake High School at 9:32 p.m.
