Police Log: A Raccoon Gets Into a House, a Coyote Sighting and a Dead Deer

The Fairfax Police Log for June 25 – July1 includes a subject without his pants, a bar fight involving 10 subjects and neighbors fighting over a public parking space.

 

Sunday, July 1

Noise complaint: Bolinas Road. 2:45 a.m. Caller said her neighbor is making too much noise.

Animal complaint: Rudy Contratti Field on Bank Street. 6:50 a.m. A dog walker is walking his dogs on the baseball field. Caller doesn’t feel he is cleaning up after the dogs.

Theft: Bennett House on Taylor Drive. 10:26 a.m. Reporting person believes someone may have taken some of her medication.

Neighbor dispute over parking spot: Manzanita Road. 3:47 p.m. Ongoing issue between neighbors over a public parking space.

Trash can fire: Siam Lotus Restaurant on Broadway. 6:50 p.m. Non-emergency line report of a trash can fire fronting the restaurant.

Noise complaint: Meernaa Avenue. 9:38 p.m. Neighbors are having a party, yelling and screaming. There are approximately 10 to 20 people.

Noise complaint: Marin Town and Country Club on Pastori Avenue. 11:40 p.m. A noisy party with loud talking and drinking. Has been going on since 8 p.m. Loud talking and laughing. Ongoing problem.

Noise complaint: Peri’s Tavern on Broadway. Caller said one of the bars must have its doors open because it’s unusually loud. Bar employee agreed to close the doors.

 

Saturday, June 30

Noise complaint: 7-11 Bolinas Road. 12:43 a.m. Reporting person said a large group of juveniles is gathered and making too much noise.

Disturbance: 19 Broadway on Broadway. 2:25 a.m. Deputy flagged down about a fight in progress.

Assault: Glen Drive. 4:09 a.m. Reporting person’s son was assaulted approximately one hour ago, fronting the residence.

Flooding: Bell and Cool. 7:23 a.m. Water coming up from the roadway flooding the area.

Coyote: San Gabriel Drive. 10:10 a.m. Reporting person said a coyote came into her backyard and then left the area.

Bike theft: Frogs Hot Tubs, School. 9:21 p.m. Citizen flagged officer down regarding a bike theft.

 

Friday, June 29

Welfare check: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 1:30 a.m. Reporting person said something at her house is “out of sorts.”

Welfare check: Meernaa Avenue. 10:56 a.m. Reporting person can’t get in contact with his wife. She should have left home Wednesday, enroute on Portland, Oregon and arrived Thursday. CHP has not had any contact with the subject. Phone calls goes straight to voicemail, and she’s not answering e-mails.

Burglary: Scenic Road. 2:22 p.m. Theft report filed.

Theft: Java Hut, Center Blvd. 9:26 p.m. Report taken.

Disturbance: Gestalt Haus on Bolinas Road. 9:36 p.m. report of a physical altercation, approximately 10 subjects involved.

 

Thursday, June 28 

Dog in the road: Bolinas Road. 2:14 a.m. Officer found a dog wandering in the middle of the roadway. Dog had a collar with a home phone number. Owner agreed to respond to the scene and pick up the dog.

Suspicious person: Poplar Avenue. 2:47 a.m. There are four homes on the property, there is a man who has been in front of one of the homes sitting there for at least an hour. Unknown if new tenant. Officer determined the man was a resident. 

Suspicious person: Center Blvd. 8:20 a.m. A subject was just at the premises not wearing pants. Subject had left and was headed toward San Anselmo.

Hazard: Meernaa Avenue. 11:18 a.m. Report of a toxic chemicals being dumped into the gutter.

Welfare check: Deuce Court. 5:08 p.m. Reporting person requests a welfare check on his mother. Unknown if she still lives at the listed address. Reporting person has been unable to make contact with her.

 

Wednesday, June 27

Found property: Napa Avenue and Pacheco Avenue. 8:31 a.m. Caller brought in a wallet she found in the roadway.

Dead deer: Whites Hill on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 9:37 p.m. In the eastbound lane there is a dead deer. Reporting person didn't know whether it was in the town of Fairfax or not. Officer determined it was outside of town limits and had already been moved to the side of the roadway.

Domestic violence/disturbance: June Court. A 911 abandoned call. On call back reporting person stated she and her husband were just having a fight. Officers responded and determined it was an argument and no violence had taken place.

 

Tuesday, June 26

Egged vehicle: Belle Avenue. 7:15 a.m. Caller’s vehicle was egged last night. Vandalism report was taken.

Trespassing at White Hill: Glen Drive. 8:12 a.m. Caller advised it appears someone has set up camp on the field, near the pods. Reporting person advised there is a bicycle and debris. He does not see a person there at this time, but would like an officer to respond and investigate.

Vehicle vs. kayak: Broadway. 11 a.m. Vehicle accident. Vehicle vs. kayak (on top of another vehicle).

Complaint: Sunshine Bicycle Center on Center Blvd. 4:08 p.m. Caller advised that the displays and bike racks are taking up too much of the sidewalk, leaving pedestrians insufficient room both by their presence and the fact that customers then have to leave their bikes in the pedestrian area as well.

Disturbance: Lansdale Ave. 4:33 p.m. Caller is trying to assist his mother with some gravel work at her property, but his sister keeps coming out into the street and screaming obscenities at them.

Animal complaint: Live Oak Avenue. 6:31 p.m. A raccoon got into the house via the vents and is running around inside. Humane society was notified.

Noise complaint: Pastori Avenue. 7:27 p.m. Where the old house used to be there is a loud group, using foul language, boys and girls. Property owner was reached who agreed to resolve the matter himself.

Harassing phone calls: Madrone Road. 9:34 p.m. Caller has been receiving unwanted phone calls and emails full of profane language. Reporting person has suspect info.

 

Monday, June 25 

Trespassing: Fairfax Plaza on Center Blvd. 11:11 a.m. Ongoing problem with subjects staying under the building. Caller thinks there are people there now.

Car seat help: Fairfax Police Department on Bolinas Road. 11:49 a.m. RP requested assistance with a car seat.

Neighbor problems: Fairfax Police Department on Bolinas Road. 5:39 pm. Reporting person came in to talk to an office about problems she is having with her neighbors.

Bike theft: Broadway/Bolinas Road. 6:43 p.m. Subject in Perry's deli now. Subject was caught and arrested. Bicycle was retrieved.
