Police Log: Fairfax Man Tells Neighbor He Didn’t Need to Stop at Stop Sign

The Fairfax Police log from June 20-24 includes a few disturbances and a man who told his neighbor that he didn't stop at a stop sign because it wasn't at a busy intersection and he didn't think he had to.

 

 Sunday, June 24

Noise complaint: Bridge Court. 12:18 a.m. Report of subjects loitering on the bridge on Bridge Court being excessively noisy.

Flooding: Main Court. 12:35 a.m. Potential broken water main.

Hazard: Center Blvd. and Pastori Avenue. 11:13 a.m. Reporting person is concerned about a banner that is partially ripped and hanging in the roadway.

Noise complaint: Rudy Contratti Field on Bank Street. 11:32 a.m. Complaint that the PA system at the field is too loud.

Suspicious person: Fairfax Park on Bolinas Road and Elsie. 12:42 p.m. Report of a man with a camera filming juveniles.  The juveniles asked the man to get away and he won't. Subject appears intoxicated. Disposition: Unfounded.

Found property: Scenic Road and Azalea Avenue. 4:02 p.m. Reporting person brought in an iPod Touch she found in the road.

Drug violation: Peri Park on Park Road. 5:08 p.m. Report of five subjects smoking marijuana near the bocce ball courts.

Traffic complaint: Lansdale Avenue and Pastori Avenue. Reporting person is upset with a neighbor because he does not stop at the stop sign. The reporting person asked why and he said he didn’t think he had to because it was not a busy intersection.

Disturbance: Fair Oaks Apartments on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 10:26 p.m. Neighbors involved in what sounds like a domestic verbal dispute, yelling and using obscenities, being excessively loud. Caller requests to remain anonymous.

Disturbance: Park Road. 10:40 p.m. Reporting person’s father is in a verbal argument. Caller is hysterical and unable to provide details.

  

Saturday, June 23

Parking complaint: Dominga Avenue. 10:33 a.m. Vehicle blocking the reporting person’s driveway.

Neighbor dispute: Chester Avenue. 11:14 a.m. Reporting person requested advice due to an ongoing dispute over her and her neighbor’s property line.

Vehicle accident: Landsdale Avenue. 2:26 p.m. Reporting person was hit by a bicyclist on Landsdale and injured her arm. Unsure if it occurred in Fairfax or San Anselmo, but caller can describe the location.

Suspicious note: Madrone Court. 4:24 p.m. Reporting person received a suspicious note on her doorstep today and would like to speak with an officer about it.

Disturbance: Bank Street and Broadway. 7:18 p.m. Two male subjects fighting at the listed intersection. One is in a white Prius and the other in a silver Volvo.

Disturbance: 2100 block Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 9:10 p.m. A couple is screaming at each other. The woman yelled “Don’t [profanity] touch me.”

Mountain bike theft: Java Hut on Center Blvd. 9:55 p.m. Reporting person’s mountain bike was just stolen from the rear of her car while she was parked at the Java Hut parking lot. Reporting person was dining at Iron Springs Brewery.

Noise complaint: Arroyo Road. 10:09 p.m. A silver SUV or station wagon is parked and playing excessively loud music.

  

Friday, June 22

Hazard: Cascade Drive. 7:33 a.m. Subject is loading their vehicle and using gasoline cans as traffic cones.

Found property: Bolinas Road. 12:44 p.m. Anonymous reporting person brought in a wallet he found fronting the business.

Stolen vehicle: Rally Court. 1:27 p.m. Reporting person said her car was stolen sometime last night. While investigating the incident, a family member showed up with the vehicle.

Unruly teens: Peri Park. 8:06 p.m. Reporting person told the Ross Valley Fire Department that a group of unruly teens had run the families out of Peri Park.

 

Thursday, June 21

Public intoxication: Peri’s Bar on Broadway. 1 a.m. Unwanted customer won’t leave.

Subject on the roof: Bolinas Road. 12:54 p.m. Reporting person’s realtor has people checking the house this afternoon and there is a subject on the roof.

Parking complaint: Woodland Road. 1:58 p.m. Gray SUV parked fronting a fire hydrant.

Fraud: Chester Avenue. 3:02 p.m. Approximately $1,500 was used on the caller’s ATM card.
