Police Log: Fighting Children, Burning Cardboard and Verbal Altercations

The San Anselmo police log for June 13-18 includes a caller telling police a neighbor sprayed her daughter and friends with a hose.

 

Monday, June 18

Found ring: Shaw Drive. 8:11 a.m. Reporting person turned in a found ring. Property was taken for safe keeping.

Stolen whacker: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 12:13 p.m. Caller reported the theft of a weed whacker and leaf blower from the back of his pickup. There was no suspect information and no witnesses. Officers responded but no one was found with the property. Incident number was provided.

Fighting children: San Anselmo Avenue and Grove Avenue. 3:48 p.m. Officer was flagged down by a female whose children were fighting in their vehicle. Officer assisted and counseled the children.

Driving on a suspended license: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. and Bolinas Avenue. 6:32 p.m. During a traffic stop, officer determined the driver was driving with a suspended license. He was cited and released on scene. Vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.

 

Sunday, June 17 

Fire in street: Ross Avenue. 1:24 a.m. Caller reported a fire was in the middle of the street near Woodland Avenue. Officers located a small amount of cardboard that was burned and made sure it was out.

Disturbance with neighbor: Tomahawk Lane. 11:53 a.m. Caller reported a disturbance involving a neighbor. Officers responded and mediated the situation. 

Fraud: Ross Avenue. 2:39 p.m. Caller reported sometime last night someone in Africa attempted to purchase plane tickets with her credit card. The reporting person was contacted and a report was taken.

Disturbing the peace: Hillcrest Court. 9:40 p.m. Anonymous caller reported her neighbor and her boyfriend were fighting. RP could only say it was verbal, but couldn't confirm if it was physical or not. Officers responded and found the male half left prior to arrival. Female confirmed it was a brief verbal argument only, and nothing physical occurred. 

 

Saturday, June 16 

Suspicious circumstances: Rutherford Avenue. 9:42 a.m. Reporting person reported her daughter was out of town and when she returned home, she found her doors and windows were all unlocked. Nothing was missing. RP just requested documentation and was given advice.

Vehicle collision: Sir Francis Drake Blvd and San Anselmo Avenue. 10:54 a.m. Caller reported a non-injury collision. Officers responded and took a report. 

Animal complaint: Sir Francis Drake Blvd and Ross Avenue. 1:12 p.m. A citizen reported a dog was running in the roadway toward Ross. Ross PD and the Humane Society were advised.

Vehicle collision with minor injury: Butterfield Road and Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 4:57 p.m. Officers responded to a minor injury collision. One driver was treated and released by the FD for complaint of pain.

Neighbor sprays daughter and friend: San Anselmo Avenue. 7:47 p.m. Reporting person said her neighbor sprayed her daughter and friends with a hose. Officers responded and contacted the RP and subject. Both were given advice.

Fight: San Anselmo Avenue. 7:50 p.m. Caller reported two male subjects were fighting and one was bleeding. Officers responded and requested medical for a subject who had a glass laceration to his hand. Officers also found it was a verbal altercation only and their mother would be taking the subject to the hospital for further treatment.

Suspicious circumstances: San Anselmo Avenue. 8:29 p.m. Caller reported a group of male and female subjects smoking marijuana and drinking in front of small children. Officer contacted the responsible party and found no merit to drug activity.  They were smoking cigarettes and were advised to drink their alcohol off of the sidewalk.

Juvenile party: Tomahawk Drive. 10:08 p.m. Reporting person reported a juvenile party at the end of the street.  Officers responded but couldn't locate a party. A group of juveniles was contacted and were enroute to the fire trail. They were advised the park was closed.

Noise complaint: Ross Avenue. 10:58 p.m. Anonymous RP reported loud music for several hours. Officer contacted a responsible party, and they said they would shut it down for the evening.

Loud party: Kientz Lane. 11:50 p.m. Caller reported a loud party. Officers responded and contacted the responsible who was advised of the complaint.

 

Friday, June 15 

Noise complaint: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 4:05 a.m. Caller reported a loud truck was loading and unloading items for an hour and a half. Officer contacted the construction company who advised they were picking up a tractor and were just about to leave.

Suspicious person: Shaw Drive. 8:02 a.m. Caller reported a subject let his dog roam around while he sat in his vehicle reading. Reporting person stated the subject was acting strangely. Officers responded and contacted the subject who was sitting in the park reading a newspaper. Situation checked out ok. 

Juvenile problem: Center Blvd. and Madrone Avenue. 2:07 p.m. Anonymous caller reported she was behind a vehicle and witnessed the passenger throw a bottle out the window and the subjects were parked in the area. Reporting person requested the subjects be admonished or cited regarding the littering. Officer checked the area and the vehicle was not located. Disposition: Gone On Arrival.

Petty theft: Ross Avenue. 7:09 p.m. RP reported he came home and found his side gate was open and several items had been taken.  Officer responded and contacted the RP. A report was taken.

 

Thursday, June 14

Reckless driving: Red Hill Avenue and Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 1:48 p.m. Caller reported two vehicles were in the area speeding and going in and out of traffic.  Officers initiated a stop on two vehicles.  The drivers denied any involvement, and they were advised of the complaint and released.

Barking dog: Brookmead Place. 10 p.m. Caller reported a dog was barking at the noted residence for two hours. Officer responded and the dog was barking on arrival. The responsible was advised of the complaint.

 

Wednesday, June 13

Petty theft: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 6:08 a.m. RP reported a subject was in the business and took an alcoholic beverage. Officers checked the area and made contact with a subject who was not a match. Reporting person advised he would call back if the owner wanted to file a report. 

Chick advice: Cordone Avenue. 10:13 a.m. Officer provided advice to a citizen regarding having chickens in her backyard.

Neighbor trespassing: San Anselmo Avenue. 1:22 p.m. Caller requested advice regarding her neighbor trespassing onto her property. Officer contacted the reporting person and advice was provided. The neighbor was also contacted and advised of the complaint. 

Suspicious person: Center Blvd. 4:21 p.m. Officer contacted a subject taking food from a garbage can behind a business. The store manager was contacted and stated he did not want the subject removing food from the garbage and would sign a citizens arrest in the future. The subject was warned and abated. 

Juveniles n’ vehicles: Tomahawk Drive. 10:33 p.m. Caller reported several vehicles were speeding past her residence and parked at the top of the noted street. The vehicles had loud music playing and the occupants were possibly gathering on the hillside. Officers responded and contacted a group of juveniles.  The parents of the juveniles were contacted and responded to pick them up. All parties were advised of the complaint and juveniles were released to their parents.
