Police Log: House Intruder Says he's Going to Use the Restroom

The San Anselmo police log for June 8-11 includes doorbell ditching, gasoline siphoning, a foot pursuit, an ex-husband slashing tires and a subject urinating in a flowerpot.

 

Monday, June 11

Arrest: Floribel Avenue and Redwood Road. 12:16 a.m. Reporting person said her friend called her because her ex-husband showed up at the house intoxicated.  Caller said the ex-husband slashed her friend's vehicle tires. Officers responded and arrested the subject for public intoxication. His ex-wife declined to file any further charges. He was booked into the Marin County Jail.

Ex-friend following: Essex Avenue. 9:11 a.m. Caller reported an ex-friend followed her to work and refused to leave. Officers responded and found he was gone on arrival. RP would call back if he returned.

Grant theft: Tamalpais Avenue. 5:06 p.m. Caller reported two bicycles were taken from her residence. Officer responded and took a report.

Doorbell ditching: The Alameda. 8:08 p.m. Caller reported juveniles were doorbell ditching at his house. RP noted they left a cup of coffee at his door as well. RP requested patrol of the neighborhood only at this time. Officer checked the area but couldn't locate anyone.

Suspicious circumstance: Santa Barbara Avenue. 9:42 p.m. Caller said someone banged on her window at her front porch. Officers responded and didn't find anyone in the area.

Barking dog: Ross Avenue. 10:25 p.m. Anonymous caller reported a barking dog. Two other citizens reported the same incident afterwards. Officer responded and located the dog. A neighbor advised the residents were on vacation, but a house sitter was watching the house. They weren't there, so a note was left.  The dog was barking when the officer arrived.

 

Sunday, June 10

Hit-and-run, foot pursuit: Bank Street and Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 4:42 p.m. Caller said her vehicle was hit by a gray van. She advised the suspect left the van with the engine running on the scene and the driver took off on foot.  Unit contacted the RP who advised witnesses reported seeing the subject hopping a fence. An officer apprehended the subject after a foot pursuit. He was booked at Marin Co. Jail without incident for hit-and-run, narcotics offenses, obstructing a police officer, and for violation of probation

Loud party: Veterans Place. 8:33 p.m. Caller reported a loud party and music with the doors open. Officers responded and advised the responsible of the complaint.  They agreed to turn down the music.

Suspicious circumstances: Oak Avenue. 9:54 p.m. Caller reported two males were sitting in a vehicle. Officers responded but couldn't find the vehicle.

Suspicious person: Tunstead Avenue and Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 11:48 p.m. Caller reported a male subject was seen and he appeared intoxicated. Officers responded and contacted him. He wasn’t intoxicated, but had an injured foot that made him walk awkwardly. He was headed to Fairfax. 

 

Saturday, June 9 

Civil standby: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 9:41 a.m. Officer provided a civil standby while a subject picked up belongings from the noted residence.

Muni code violation: Center Blvd. and San Anselmo Avenue. 10:53 a.m. Officer removed two real estate signs.

Extra traffic control: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. and Butterfield Road. 12:58 p.m. Anonymous caller reported traffic violations in the area and requested extra patrol. Extra patrol was provided and three citations were issued.

Vehicles restrict fire access: Oak Knoll Avenue and Pastori Avenue. 1:20 p.m. RP advised vehicles were blocking the roadway and a fire engine was unable to pass through. Officer assisted fire in turning around the engine and one citation was issued for 12-foot clearance violation. 

Neighbor dispute: Buena Vista Avenue. 4:08 p.m. Caller requested advice regarding a dispute with a neighbor over a landscaping project. Officer contacted the reporting person and advice was provided.

Grand theft: Oak Springs Drive. 9:48 p.m. Caller reported cash was taken from his residence. Officer responded and a report was taken.

Suspicious vehicle: Woodside Drive. 10:21 p.m. Caller reported a vehicle was parked fronting her residence for 5 minutes, when the caller went outside the vehicle moved up the hill and was parked fronting her neighbor’s residence. While on the phone, RP stated the vehicle left. Officers checked the area and the vehicle was not located.

 

Friday, June 8

Noise complaint: Ross Avenue. 12:23 a.m. Anonymous reporting person said a group of subjects were in the back yard of the noted location being loud and playing music. Officer responded and contacted two residences fronting the property. The responsible was advised of the complaint and agreed to keep it quiet for the night.

Man talking: Woodland Avenue and Crescent Road. 3:34 a.m. Anonymous caller reported a vehicle was parked at the intersection and she heard a male subject talking. The vehicle was gone when officers responded.

Shopping cart: Tamalpais Avenue. 10:46 a.m. Caller reported a shopping cart was left at her residence.  The store owner was advised.

Urination in a flowerpot: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 4:55 p.m. Caller reported a male subject urinated in a flowerpot fronting a business. Officers responded and contacted the subject who was determined to be intoxicated in public. The subject was arrested and transported to the Marin County Jail.

Gasoline siphoning: Miwok Drive. 8:13 p.m. Caller said an unknown subject(s) siphoned gasoline from his two vehicles. The incident was witnessed. Caller requested extra patrol. Service was provided.

Man entered lock residence: San Anselmo Avenue. 10:24 p.m. Caller reported an unknown subject entered the locked residence and went into her roommate’s room.  When the roommate confronted the subject, he said he was going to use the restroom. The subject then left the residence. Nothing was taken or damaged.  Officer contacted the caller and advice was provided.
