Police: Noisy Children, Teens, Neighbors and Chickens

The following was reported by the San Anselmo Police Department. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

The following is a selection of calls made to the from April 20 to April 22. The full reports can be found on the department's website.

Sunday, Apr. 22

12:44 a.m. BARKING DOG
A dog was reported barking on Madrone Avenue. An officer responded and was able to contact a neighbor who agreed to care for the dog until the owner returned home.

1:41a.m. VEHICLE COMPLAINT
A resident of Redwood Road reported a vehicle was parked partially on her property and was concerned it was damaging her landscaping. Officer responded and advised the vehicle was legally parked.

12:46 p.m. ANIMAL COMPLAINT
A resident of Camino De Herrera reported loud chickens in the area. Officer responded and left a courtesy phone message for the resident; ordinance only covers roosters.

4:05 p.m. PARKING VIOLATION
A citizen on Butterfield Road reported a vehicle was parked on the bike lane. Officer responded and cited it.

5:06 p.m. DISTURBING THE PEACE
A woman on Butterfield Road reported her roommate was yelling at her. Officers responded and contacted her, but she requested no further assistance.

7:27 p.m. MUNI CODE VIOLATION
An officer located several dogs off leash in the area of Veterans Place. Owners were warned and advised of the ordinance.

9:33 p.m. SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES
A woman reported she saw a male subject holding a stick, possibly casing vehicles in the of San Anselmo Avenue. She saw him looking at three different vehicles. Officers responded and checked the area and surrounding streets with negative results. Citizens in the area were also contacted but they didn't note anyone suspicious in the area.

Saturday, Apr. 21

12:26 a.m. SLEEPER
Officer contacted a subject who was sleeping in the area of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Butterfield Road. Subject was advised of the ordinance and was abated from the area.

9:01 a.m. DISTURBING THE PEACE
A woman reported an altercation with her tenant on Butterfield Road. Officers responded and mediated the situation and both were provided advice.

10:22 a.m. ANIMAL COMPLAINT
A citizen reported loud chickens in the area of Camino De Herrrera. Officer responded and found it quiet on arrival.

10:35 a.m. DISTURBING THE PEACE
A woman on Butterfield Road reported an altercation with her roommate. Officers responded and mediated the situation.

10:35 a.m. DISTURBING THE PEACE
A woman reported a bicyclist almost hit her while in the crosswalk on San Anselmo Avenue. She and bicyclist were both standing by for an officer. Officer responded and confirmed it was verbal only.

11:07 a.m. EXTRA TRAFFIC CONTROL & ENFORCEMENT Someone requested extra traffic enforcement due to speeding bicyclists in the of San Anselmo Avenue.

1:13 p.m. FOUND PROPERTY
A man reported he found a wallet on San Anselmo Avenue and would like to turn it in. Officer took custody of the property and took a report.

3:49 p.m. ASSAULT/BATTERY
Officers arrested a female juvenile on suspicion of assault/battery on Greenfield Avenue. She was booked into Marin County Juvenile Hall.

6:12 p.m. NOISE COMPLAINT
An anonymous party reported a jack hammer was being used in the area of Broadmoor Avenue/Brookside Drive. Officer checked the area but couldn’t locate it.

8:42 p.m. LOST PROPERTY
A woman reported she lost her wallet on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and wanted to document the incident.

10:09 p.m. NOISE COMPLAINT
Someone reported a group of subjects were outside being loud on Tamapais Avenue. Officers responded and contacted an adult party that agreed to move inside.

11:12 p.m. PARKING VIOLATION
Someone reported a large party had vehicles parked blocking the roadway on Scenic Avenue. Officers contacted the resident who had all the partygoers leave. All vehicles were moved.

Friday, Apr. 20

5:04 a.m. SLEEPER
Someone reported there was a man sleeping on the sidewalk on Greenfield Avenue. Officer contacted the subject who was advised of the ordinance and moved along.

8:55 a.m. DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED DL After making a traffic stop on San Anselmo Avenue, the 49-year-old driver was cited for driving on a suspended license. The vehicle owner came to the scene and picked up the vehicle.

11:39 p.m. NO/EXPIRED DL After making a traffic stop on San Anselmo Avenue, an officer determined the 36-year-old driver to be unlicensed. Officer issued her a citation and the vehicle was parked at the scene.

2:11 p.m. SUSPICIOUS PERSON
A person reported a someone had urinated on a tree on San Anselmo Avenue. Officers contacted the subject who was advised of the complaint and abated from the area.

6:12 p.m. HAZARD A man reported his trailer came unattached from his truck and it was blocking a lane of traffic on Red Hill Avenue at Essex. Officer responded and was able to assist in resecuring the trailer.

9:33 p.m. SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES
Someone reported young children screaming at the playground on Belle Avenue but did not see any adults present. Officer responded and advised there was a large group of kids playing in the area, with adult supervision.

10:13 p.m. DISTURBING THE PEACE
Someone reported a man was yelling profanities in the area of Durham Road. Officer checked the area and located a verbal altercation at a residence. Contact was made with two subjects who were counseled.
