Police: Several DUI's and One Bad Driver

The following was reported by the Fairfax Police Department. Arrest does not indicate conviction.

The following is a selection of calls made to the  from March 16 to 18.The full report can be found on the department's website.

 

Sunday, Mar. 18

12:20 a.m. – An intoxicated woman wouldn’t get into a cab at a local bar.  Officers made an arrest.

5:14 a.m. – A resident of Ridgeway Avenue said someone was driving off in his vehicle. The driver hit a tree on the way out and abandoned the vehicle.

5:51 a.m. – A woman reported that someone rifled through her unlocked car on Friday night on Chester Avenue.

9:27 a.m. – A citizen reported he found a bicycle in the bushes in Fairfax Park. The bike was placed into property for safekeeping.

9:35 a.m. – A woman reported that her Motorola Razor Android cell phone was stolen from her unlocked vehicle on Live Oak Avenue.

10:34 a.m. – There was a report of a Corgi mix dog in the roadway on Bolinas Road. The officer was able to corral the dog and return it to the owner at the listed address.

11:30 a.m. – A citizen reported a bicycle had been dumped over the side of the roadway at Chester Avenue at Vanni Lane. The bicycle was placed in property for safekeeping.

12:29 p.m. – A citizen found a credit card outside the Bank of America on Broadway. The card was placed into evidence for safekeeping.

2:17 p.m. – A woman said she found a zippered coin purse at Rudy Contratti Field on Bank Street.

9:57 p.m. – Someone reported there was a man who had car batteries with him at the Washing Well on Center Boulevard but did not appear to be doing laundry. The man was contacted and given a warning regarding trespassing per the establishment owner’s request.

Saturday, Mar. 17

1:45 a.m. – An officer made an arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence on Bolinas Road.

3:14 p.m. – A person complained about garbage piling up in front of a residence on Scenic Road and attracting rats.

4:54 p.m. – A citizen called on behalf of a friend and neighbor who lost his wallet somewhere in the downtown area near Bolinas Road and Broadway.

5:00 p.m. – Two subjects were arrested on suspicion of public intoxication after a physical altercation at the Pavilion on Bolinas Road.

8:00 p.m. – A traffic complaint was made about a “very small” motorcycle traveling up and down on Bolinas Road.  The complaint is that it has no lights and that it’s very noisy.

9:57 p.m. – A group of teens that were packed into a dark-colored Honda Civic, got out and took a bunch of garbage out of their trunk and threw it on a neighbor's yard on Live Oak Avenue. They were gone on arrival of the officer.

Friday, Mar. 16

2:18 a.m. – A resident at the Creekside Apartments on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard reported a suspicious person under a bedroom window and asking for one of the residents and saying they had unfinished business. The residents do not know the subject.

10:32 a.m. – A car was struck by a vehicle at the Sherwood Oaks Apartments on Bolinas Road. Both parties were standing by in the manager’s office.

10:47 a.m. – A realtor calling on behalf of new residents at a home on Iron Springs Road said that a homeless person is living in the vacant residence.

7:28 p.m. – A woman reported that someone hit her vehicle on Belle Avenue and didn’t leave a note. She located a car in the area which is a possible suspect.

7:38 p.m. – A citizen has been following a vehicle that has been weaving all over the roadway from Sir Francis Drake Boulevard until it turned on to Oak Manor Drive. The officer located the vehicle and driver. The driver was not driving under the influence.

10:06 p.m. – One of two subjects was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication at Parkade on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. The other did not meet the criteria.

10:25 p.m. – A person reported a man and woman in a small white car just left the Mono lot on Mono Avenue. The reporting party believes they are intoxicated and advised dispatch that they were arguing in the car for quite some time before they left. Officer was unable to locate.

11:20 p.m. – A person called about what appeared to be an unsupervised juvenile slumber party at the Robinhood Manor Apartments on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. Advice was given.
