Police: Suspicious Woman Smelling Wildflowers; No Crime to Skateboard Downhill Fast

The following was reported by the San Anselmo Police Department. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

Thursday, Apr. 12

2:18 a.m. CITIZEN ASSIST
A resident of Hilldale Drive reported he accidently locked himself out of his residence. Officer responded and assisted the him in gaining entry to the residence

10:59 a.m. WATERMAIN BREAK
Occurred on Sir Francis Drake Bl. A citizen reported a broken water pipe at a business on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. Officer responded and assisted the fire department.

11:44 a.m. LOST PROPERTY
A man reported he lost a set of keys in the area of Butterfield Road. Information was logged.

2:19 p.m. PARKING VIOLATION
A citizen reported a vehicle was parked in the lot on Tamalpais Avenue without permission. Officer responded and the vehicle was cited.

11:28 p.m. JUVENILE PROBLEM
Someone reported that a group of juveniles were loitering in the area of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and one of them urinated on the ground. Officers checked the area, but the group was gone on arrival.

Wednesday, Apr. 11

7:55 a.m. ROAD WORK / CONSTRUCTION
A resident advised the road was closed on Laurel Avenue for emergency tree removal and the appropriate permit was acquired.

10:26 a.m. MUNI CODE VIOLATION
An anonymous person reported a leaf blower violation in the area of Vineyard Avenue. Officer responded, but did not locate the violation

11:26 a.m. ANIMAL COMPLAINT 

A resident reported a swarm of bees were in the area of Kensington Road and Ross Avenue. Officer responded and found the bees had settled and were not posing as a threat. The Marin Beekeeper was advised.

2:44 p.m. ANNOYING/HARRASSING PHONE CALLS
A man reported a subject was in the area of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and spoke to him in a threatening manner. Officers responded and admonished the subject regarding the complaint.

3:19 p.m. ANIMAL COMPLAINT
Someone reported a subject’s dog charged several times and the reporting party asked the dog owner to take control of his dog. The subject ignored the reporting party’s request. Officer spoke with the reporting party and advice was given.

4:46 p.m. FOUND PROPERTY
A citizen reported a briefcase with computer was left on a bench on San Anselmo Avenue.
 The property owner was located and reunited with the items.

6:50 p.m. SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE
A woman reported her prescription medication was being taken without her permission. An officer contacted the woman and after investigation, determined the prescriptions had not yet been filled. Advice was provided.

9:00 p.m. PUBLIC INTOXICATION / BOOKING
It was reported a man was in a business on San Anselmo Avenue and left without paying his bill. Officers contacted the subject and advised him not to return to the business. He was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.

Tuesday, Apr. 10

10:28 a.m. CITIZEN ASSIST
Officer initiated activity on Sir Francis Drake Bl. A citizen flagged an officer on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard to report a vehicle hazard. The owner of a vehicle that had rolled away was located and the vehicle was moved.

1:15 p.m. DISTURBING THE PEACE
Someone reported a verbal altercation involving three people on Santa Barbara Avenue. Officers responded and confirmed it was verbal only. The situation was mediated.

2:40 p.m. SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES
A business on San Anselmo Avenue reported a possible theft from a store. Officers responded and located the subject with a parent. No merit was found to any theft from that store.

3:21 p.m. SHOPLIFTING
A second report from a San Anselmo business that an item was taken from her store and it was related to the previous incident. Officer contacted the business, the juvenile’s mother and the juvenile. The juvenile returned the item to the proper store it was taken from. Advice was given to the business.

4:42 p.m. DISTURBING THE PEACE
A resident of Butterfield Road reported a roommate was intoxicated and grabbed him. A report was taken.

7:46 p.m. VEHICLE COMPLAINT
A resident of Butterfield Avenue reported a vehicle was parked partially blocking the driveway. Officer responded and contact was attempted with the owner with negative results. The owner later called to advise she would move the vehicle.

Monday, Apr. 9

12:55 a.m. DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED DL
An officer initiated activity at Ross Avenue and San Anselmo Avenue where an officer cited and released a 28-year-old man on suspicion of driving on a suspended license pursuant to a traffic stop. His vehicle was left parked and locked at the scene.

10:15 a.m. JUVENILE PROBLEM
An anonymous citizen reported two skateboarders were going down the hill on a blind curve at Camino De Herrera and Oakwood Court and it was dangerous. Watch commander was advised; no violation was found.

10:32 a.m. ABANDONED VEHICLE TOWED
A previously marked vehicle on Tunstead Avenue was towed after being parked in the excess of 72 hours.

11:32 a.m.  SUSPICIOUS PERSON
Someone reported a woman wandering the area of Hooper Lane for the past day and she was currently sitting down in the area. Officers made contact with the subject who was just looking at wildflowers in the center median and continued on her walk.

5:21 p.m. ANIMAL COMPLAINT
A woman reported a dog was off leash on Red Hill Avenue and she wanted some advice on what to do since it was a recurring problem. The woman was referred to the Humane Society.

6:17 p.m. VEHICLE COMPLAINT
Someone reported a vehicle was parked partially blocking the driveway on San Anselmo Avenue. Officer responded and found the vehicle was legally parked.

7:57 p.m. ANIMAL COMPLAINT
A reported she saw a loose dog in the area of Laurel Avenue and Myrtle Avenue. She attempted to catch it but couldn't. Officer located the dog and took possession of it. The owner responded to the police department and picked up her dog.

9:09 p.m. ANIMAL COMPLAINT
A resident of Butterfield Avenue reported someone hit a dog in front of his residence. The owner was located and took it to an emergency vet.
