Police: Threatening Man, Dogs Loose, Burglary

The following was reported by the San Anselmo Police Department. It does not indicate conviction.

The following is a selection of calls made to the from March 5 to March 11. The full reports can be found on the department's website.

Monday, March 5

Domestic Violence: A resident reported a female driver was being assaulted by a male passenger at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Bank Street at 2:24 a.m. Officers located the woman, but the man had fled. He came to the station and was subsequently arrested for domestic violence and booked into the county jail.

Animal: An officer located a dog running loose on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 4:27 a.m., but was unable to catch it.

Hit and Run: A car struck a resident’s car while parked in his driveway on Oak Springs Drive overnight.

Petty Theft: A backpack was taken.

Found Property: A resident reported that a child’s bike was put in her yard on San Francisco Boulevard.

Disturbing the Peace: A resident said she was having a roommate dispute and felt threatened. Officers determined it was a verbal argument only and the male half left temporarily.

Suspicious Circumstances: Two young girls were running down Lansdale Avenue and a car possibly stop and talked to them.

Tuesday, March 6

Advice: A resident requested advice about their kid’s facebook use.

Warrant Arrest: Officers served an outstanding warrant to a woman on San Anselmo Avenue at 11:12 a.m. out of Sonoma County.

Suspicious Person: A homeless man was urinating in the parking lot on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 11:32 a.m. He was abated from the area and was headed to San Rafael.

Publix Intoxication: A man was sitting on a bench on Greenfield Avenue at 12:47 p.m. and had been in the bushes urinating earlier. Officers transported him to a detox facility.

Driving without a License: At a traffic stop on Bolinas Avenue at 1:26 p.m., a man was cited for being an unlicensed driver. The car was parked and a licensed driver called to retrieve it.

Animal: There was a dog in the street in Tunstead Avenue growling at 4:18 p.m.

Lost: A backpack fell off a bike on Sunnyhills Drive.

Suspicious Vehicle: There was an unfamiliar suspicious vehicle parked on Suffield Avenue.

Solicitor: A solicitor came to a resident’s door on Mountain View Avenue around 8 p.m.

Wednesday, March 7

Sleeper: An officer was out with a sleeper on Sunnyhills Drive at 1:21 a.m.

Extra Traffic Control: There was an anonymous request for traffic enforcement at San Anselmo Avenue and Grove Lane at 9:15 a.m. for bicyclists running stop signs. One was cited and one was warned.

Suspicious Person: An officer contacted and interviewed a subject on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 9:58 a.m.

Driving without a License: An officer cited and released a subject at a traffic stop at Center Boulevard and Bridge Avenue at 1:43 p.m. for driving without a license.

Suspicious Circumstances: A woman was at the bank on San Anselmo Avenue claiming she was beaten and needed assistance. She also said she had broken ribs and needed money to pay the person who beat her. Officers followed the female subject back to her residence. A male subject was also contacted, who will be staying there tonight while the woman stays elsewhere.

Civil Problem: There was an ongoing disagreement with a neighbor over a light fixture in a common area on San Anselmo Avenue, which one resident said is attached to his electricity meter.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident thought there was movement in her house on Fernwood Drive at 7:13 p.m. She grabbed her kids and drove to the police station to report it. Officers checked the interior and everything appeared in order.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident was concerned about four subjects walking down the middle of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 7:46 p.m.

Thursday, March 8

Fraud: A resident reported that the business name was used fraudulently in an attempt to obtain a credit card.

Disturbing the Peace: Two man were involved in a verbal altercation over a parking issue on San Anselmo Avenue at 11:41 a.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident said a subject was sexually harassing juvenile girls on San Anselmo Avenue at 3:43 p.m.

Suspicious Person: A subject was walking toward the church at Butterfield Road and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 5:06 p.m.

Fire: A resident reported that her smoke detectors and fire alarm had been activated on Los Angeles Boulevard at 6:43 p.m., but she didn’t see any flames.

Animal: A “pitbull-type” dog was loose at Center Boulevard and San Anselmo Avenue at 6:47 p.m.

Animal: An officer was flagged down to report a missing German Shepherd.

Solicitor: There was a possible solicitor on a resident’s deck and knocking on the back door on Park Drive.

Solicitor: A subject tried to hand out flyers on Berlin Avenue.

Suspicious Circumstances: Two cars were driving up and down Oak Avenue at 10:25 p.m. and the occupants have been getting out and switching cars.

Barking Dog: A dog was barking for an hour on San Anselo Avenue at 11:05 p.m. The neighbor was able to pull the dogs inside.

Friday, March 9

Sleeper: A subject was sleeping in his car on Greenfield Avenue at 2:58 a.m.

Disturbing the Peace: A resident said her roommate was getting angry and “is a different person” on The Alameda at 4:45 a.m. It was determined to have been an argument over noise and bathroom usage.

Suspicious Circumstances: The sheriff’s office received a 9-1-1 call from the CHP where a woman said ‘get the police here now.’ The area was searched, but the call was determined to be an error by the CHP and was actually occurring in Contra Costa County.

Disturbing the Peace: A resident reported that her roommate was possibly high on The Alameda and was currently upstairs “falling.” It was determined to be a verbal dispute.

Suspicious Person: A subject walked by a resident’s house on Ross Avenue and told him that he couldn’t get a job and if he killed everyone in town that could change.

Suspicious Person: There was a suspicious person at Laurel and Myrtle Avenues at 11:54 a.m.

Suspicious Vehicle: A car was parked on Karl Avenue at 12:23 p.m., but a resident had never seen it before.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident reported a subject impersonating an officer on San Anselmo Avenue at 2:28 p.m.

Collision – No Injury: There was a non-injury collision at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Bridge Avenue at 2:34 p.m.

Suspicious Person: A subject was walking around on San Anselmo Avenue muttering to himself and seemed angry.

Hit and Run: A resident witnessed a hit and run and followed the subject to the gas station at The Hub.

Juveniles: The night janitor on Ross Avenue said someone was running around the school and throwing objects at the windows he’s cleaning at 9:03 p.m.

Sunday, March 11

Suspicious Circumstances: Two men were walking on Butterfield Road at 1:49 a.m.

Disturbing the Peace: A resident reported that he was slapped twice by another subject on Sequoia Drive. The disagreement had been over drinking and they agreed not to drink anymore.

Animal: A dog was in distress in a car on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 2:28 p.m. The owner was located and admonished.

Animal: A resident’s daughter was out walking their dog when an off-leash pitbull attacked them.

Suspicious Circumstances: A man had been taking pictures of kids on Woodland Avenue earlier in the morning.

Petty Theft: A boy’s bike was stolen from a driveway on Hillside Avenue.

Barking Dog: A dog was barking for over two hours on Hillside Avenue at 6 p.m.

Trespassing: A large group of juveniles stole a six-pack of beer from a business on Center Boulevard and the employee followed them on Bridge. The owner declined to prosecute, but they were warned from entering the store.

Burglary: A window was smashed and purse stolen from a car on Greenfield Avenue.
