Quick N' Easy Burglar Caught in a Tree

San Anselmo police arrested Damon Parks, 42, for robbing the around 5 a.m. after finding him in a tree outside the convenience store with merchandise taken from inside.

According to Sgt. Julie Gorwood, officers responded to a call from an alarm company about an alarm activated at the Quick N' Easy in San Anselmo at 4:57 a.m. Officers found Parks, of San Anselmo, in a tree on the north side of the building after hearing rustling coming from the area.

Parks also had a garbage bag on the ground beneath him and consented to a search of his person, said Gorwood.

Officers reportedly found burglary tools and merchandise from the store, including a bottle of whiskey, a breakfast bar, a box of ice cream bars, a package of cigarettes, pornography DVDs and magazines.

According to Gorwood, it was determined Parks broke into the store through the ventilation ducts in the roof. He was caught as he exited down the tree he used to get onto the roof.

Parks was arrested and booked into the county jail for burglary.
