According to O'Callaghan and the email blast sent out by MCBC, two Caucasian men were seen in at least one of the incidents. They were driving an older gray sedan and are suspected in the three thefts.

It's likely the pair chose Fairfax as a target because it's a bicycle destination and they'll move on to another town in the Bay Area soon, said O'Callaghan.

"Because they were chased off, we want to think they moved on to the next town," he said, but warned people to continue to be cautious.
