Authorities conducting a prostitution investigation in San Rafael on Friday arrested an Oakland woman on suspicion of pimping a 17-year-old girl, the Marin Independent Journal reports.
Sheriff’s deputies and the San Rafael police were conducting a joint probe on Lincoln Avenue that led to the arrest of 32-year-old Sterlleeta Faye Herrin at a San Rafael hotel, the report said.
Herrin was also arrested on suspicion of child endangerment, the report said.
Authorities were citing two prostitution suspects at the Villa Inn when they observed Herrin leaving a room with the girl and a man, sheriff’s Lt. Jamie Scardina told the IJ.
Herrin admitted to accepting money in exchange for the girl’s sexual acts, Scardina said.
The girl, who lives in Richmond, was released to the custody of a parent, the report said. The alleged john was released.
Prostitution suspects Brianca Nicole Jeane Zeno, 18, of Pittsburg and 21-year-old Lillian Mae Deeds of San Pablo, were cited and released during the investigation, the report said.
