A hit and run collision in Terra Linda triggered the 27-year-old San Rafael man's arrest.

A San Rafael man arrested earlier this week on suspicion of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident has at least three prior DUI convictions, the Marin Independent Journal reports.

A motorist who witnessed the accident called police and followed the Camry to a Merrydale Drive home, the report said.

Police arrived on the scene to question the driver, whom police identified as Davalos, according to the report. Police arrested Davalos, whom they said reeked of booze, after he declined to answer questions or take a sobriety test.

Davalos was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated with three prior DUI convictions, leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a suspended license for a DUI and a probation violation, the report said.

He was booked into Marin County Jail on $75,000 bail.
