Request for Extra Fairfax Police Attention to Bicycles Running Stop Signs Downtown

The Fairfax Police blotter for March 21-26 includes a White Hill Middle School student found with a knife.

 

Tuesday, March 26 

Traffic complaint: 2:04 a.m. Peri’s Silver Dollar on Broadway. Report of an older woman laying in the street fronting the bar.

Burglary: 10:57 a.m. Iron Springs Road. RP said there were two men loitering in the area and hiding in the bushes.

Bees: 3:58 p.m. Taylor Road. Bees swarming between 8 Rocca and 1900 Sir Francis Drake Blvd.

Vandalism: 7:55 p.m. Upper Pavilion Lot on Bank Street and Elsie Lane. RP reports the rear window to his van was broken out by unknown subjects.

Generic fire call/not specified: 10:07 p.m. Good Earth on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. RP reports seeing a strobe light going off inside the business.

Disturbance: 10:29 p.m. Inyo Avenue. Report of two men fighting in the street. Disposition: citation issued.

 

Monday, March 25

Fire: 2:04 p.m. Deer Park Villa on Bolinas Road. RP reported a fire in the kitchen wall.

Recovered stolen vehicle: 4:31 p.m. Pine Drive. RP said a vehicle has been parked near her residence for two to three days and last damaged to the left rear panel.

Suspicious circumstances: 5:47 p.m. Live Oak Avenue. RP said a large, commercial wood chipper is being used at the end of the street. The responsible is not a resident and uses the area to chip debris from jobs and leaves it at the end of the road.

 

Sunday, March 24 

Disturbance: 2:38 a.m. Sequoia Road. Anonymous report of eight to 10 people yelling and escalating. Two people were on the ground, possibly fighting.

Citizen assist: 5:20 p.m. Fairfax Police Department on Bolinas Road. Three juveniles came in to the station to speak with an officer regarding skateboard rules.

DUI: 5:32 p.m. Broadway and Pacheco Road. Female driver crashed into a wall on Pacheco.

Unwanted subject: 11:24 p.m. 7-Eleven on Bolinas Road. An old lady is sleeping on the floor. RP asked her to leave but she refused. Subject was warned and abated.

 

Saturday, March 23

Theft: 7:07 a.m. Park Road. RP saw a subject break into a black SUV parked past the Women’s Club on Park Road. The suspect drove away in a small white Honda or Datsun type vehicle, with a souped-up motor.

Traffic complaint: 8:47 a.m. Bolinas Road and Broadway. RP requested extra enforcement for bicycles running stop signs in the downtown area.

Vandalism: 10:41 a.m. Mono Avenue. RP reported that an approximately 1 a.m., someone picked up a garbage can and hit his car with it, putting a dent into the side.

Traffic complaint: 6:02 p.m. Fairfax Market on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Road range incident occurred on Broadway. Subject stopped and when two cars tried to go around him, he jumped out and yelled at them. When he saw the RP was on the phone to the police, he left.

Theft: 7:12 p.m. Mono Lot on Mono Avenue. His bicycle was stolen. Right orange GT brand Sensor Elite with upgraded brakes, gears, shifters and forks. Valued at $2,200 - $2,500. Cable was cut, another bike was not taken.

 

Friday, March 22

Stolen vehicle: 7 a.m. Hillside Drive. RP woke up this morning and found her husband’s pickup missing from their driveway and someone rifled through their tenant’s jeep and stole property from it.

Theft: 12:21 p.m. Dominga Avenue. RP reported his bicycle stolen from alongside the fence next to his driveway.

Juvenile problem: 12:52 p.m. White Hill School on Glen Drive. They have a student found to be in possession of a knife and requested an officer respond to speak with them.

Theft: 1:01 p.m. Hillside Drive. Unknown subjects went through the RP’s vehicle last night and stole roughly $20 in cash and a GPS.

Vehicle accident – minor injury: 11:02 p.m. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. and Claus Drive. Report that a vehicle hit two pedestrians.

Juvenile problem: 3:08 p.m. White Hill School on Glen Drive. A student made threats against other students.

 

Thursday, March 21 

Suspicious circumstances: 10:20 a.m. Scenic Road. RP was contacted by a subject who claimed to be looking for a drywall company in the neighborhood. In light of recent burglaries, the RP thought the subject was suspicious. The subject was last seen driving down Scenic in a white Ford Escort.
