Resident Can’t Afford a Cab, Calls 911 for an Ambulance Ride

The Fairfax police log for July 25-30 includes noisy construction work, public intoxication and stolen bikes.


Monday, July 30

Town code violation: 7:37 a.m. Spruce Road. Anonymous reporting person complained of construction workers waking her up by moving equipment around.

Bicycle theft: 12:55 p.m. Fairfax Plaza on Center Blvd. Reporting person’s bicycle was stolen last night.

Sleeper: 2:23 p.m. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Reporting person said a subject is sleeping in the bushes by the bus stop.

Civil problem: 6:30 p.m. Cascade Drive. Reporting person rented a truck for her son to use, but he has kept it two days past the return. He and the truck are currently in Fairfax and she would like a standby while she goes to retrieve the keys and the vehicle.

Welfare check: 6:42 p.m. Pastori Avenue. Gray four-door Mazda on the wrong side of the street. Somebody passed out in the back seat and all the windows were rolled up. Subject is not moving. Subject was gone when the officer arrived at the scene.


Sunday, July 29

Abandoned Vehicle: 11:01 a.m. Bolinas Road. Caller reported a black Audi parked in front of her residence for approximately a week without moving. An officer responded and the vehicle was marked for abandoned.

A real police officer: 4:29 p.m. Fairfax Police Department on Bolinas Road. Children are at the Police Department to meet with a real police officer.

Missing jewlery: 4:50 p.m. Ridge Road. Reporting person said his wife’s jewelry was discovered missing last night. Last seen approximately two years ago.

Theft: 8:35 p.m. Don’s Market on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Reporting person said a female just stole a bottle of wine.


Saturday, July 28

Noise complaint: 7:50 a.m. Bank of America on Broadway. Construction at the plaza.

Vandalism: 11:18 a.m. Deuce Court. Reporting person’s vehicle was scratched, appears intentional.

Disturbance: 2:30 p.m. Fairfax Police Department on Bolinas Road. Subject in the front lobby was causing a verbal disturbance.

Vehicle accident: 6:29 p.m. Porteous Avenue. Reporting person’s parked vehicle was hit. The subject attempted to leave but was stopped by the reporting person’s neighbors. Officers responded and a report was taken.

Juvenile problem: 9:35 p.m. Pacheco Avenue. Reporting person said there are juveniles in the creek “up to no good.” Disconnected prior to giving more information.

Advice: 10:10 p.m. Fairfax Police Department on Bolinas Road. Citizen requesting advice regarding a daughter who is with a step-mother on a camping trip and she will not return the child.


Friday, July 27

Smoke smell: 9:51 a.m. Cascade Drive and Canyon Road. Reporting person smelled smoke in the area while driving down Cascade.

Noise complaint: 3:39 p.m. Bolinas Road. Complaint of amplified music. Officer responded and determined it was a small birthday party.

Noise complaint: 10:24 p.m. Downtown on Bolinas Road and Broadway. Loud music from a bar. Reporting person wants doors and windows closed but does not know which establishment. Officer located the bar and had them close the doors.

DUI: 11:09 p.m. Fairfax Coin Car Wash, Sir Francis Drake Blvd. While on a traffic stop, officers determined that the driver was driving under the influence. Vehicle was booted and the driver was arrested and released to the custody of her husband.


Thursday, July 26

Burglary: 5:46 p.m. Fairfax Scoop on Broadway. Reporting person said two bicycles were just stolen. Officers responded to check the area and a report was taken.

Suspicious circumstances: 8:54 p.m. Bolinas Road. Reporting person feels she is being stalked but is not currently in any danger. Reporting person does not want contact at her home. She will be walking to the Police Department now to speak with an officer.


Wednesday, July 25

Citizen assist: 10:19 a.m. Taylor Drive. Reporting person called 911 to request an ambulance to take her to Kaiser Terra Linda as she didn’t have enough money for a cab. Reporting person said Medicare would cover the ambulance costs. Reporting person was advised to not call 911 unless she had an emergency.

Animal problem: 2:36 p.m. Tamalpais Road. Reporting person said there’s a dead fawn on the street in front of his residence.

Suspicious circumstances: 6:58 p.m. Manor School on Oak Manor Drive. Reporting person said people are engaged in suspicious behavior that may be related to graffiti at the school.

Insanity case: 9:31 p.m. Wood Lane. His son stole his car. Son has agreed to bring the car back to the reporting person’s place of business. Reporting person said his son’s mental state was deteriorating.

Public intoxication: 10:17 p.m. The Sleeping Lady Café on Broadway. Reporting person complained of a person panhandling outside of the business. Subject has a history of aggressive behavior. An arrest was made.
