Road Rage, a Bevy of Bike Thefts and a Business Relocation Gone Awry

This week's roundup of Central Marin Police Authority activities in San Anselmo also includes allegations of fraud and forgery.

While on patrol in the area of San Anselmo Ave. and Tunstead Ave., a CMPA officer was flagged down regarding a road rage incident between a San Anselmo resident and a Sebastopol resident. The officer mediated the situation and the subjects were sent on their way.

A resident of the 100 block of Sycamore Ave. reported a green with silver Bianchi Cruiser bicycle, valued at approximately $900, was stolen from their carport four months ago. Documentation was provided for the theft.

A San Anselmo resident reported his black and green Specialized Status, 9 speeds mountain bike, valued at approximately $2,500, was taken from where it was parked in the 1300 block of Sir Francis Drake Blvd. via the lock being cut. A Grand Theft report was taken.

A subject reported a vehicle he borrowed from a friend was stolen from where it was parked in the 700 block of San Anselmo Ave. The vehicle’s owner responded to the scene and an auto theft report was taken. The vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System.        

A resident of the 130 block of Woodland Ave. reported business checks were stolen and someone forged his mother’s signature to cash them. The loss is approximately $4,000. A fraud report was taken and there may be additional investigation pending.  

A Fairfax resident, who is a student at Sir Francis Drake High School, reported the theft of his bicycle from the school. The bicycle is a black Marin Muir Woods, 21 speeds, valued at approximately $800. The bicycle had been locked at the time it was stolen. Documentation was provided for the theft and the bicycle was entered into the Automated Property System.
 
A resident of the 10 block of Durham Road reported his ex-girlfriend came to his house wanting to pick up some of her property. When she left, she took both of his phones and his vehicle. He advised she returned the vehicle and phones an hour later. The phones were damaged and there are additional items missing. A report was taken and there is follow-up pending.

A resident of the 30 block of Agatha Court reported a vehicle has been parked in the area for two to three weeks and the driver’s door was unlocked. The vehicle was determined to be a stolen vehicle from San Rafael which had been reported to the San Rafael Police Department on April 13, 2013. The vehicle was not damaged, stripped or burned. SRPD was notified and the vehicle was removed from the Stolen Vehicle System.

An employee of Hall Middle School reported she is a teacher and saw graffiti vandalism at the rear of the school. Photographs were taken to document the vandalism.

The owner of a business in the 700 block of Sir Francis Drake Blvd. reported he was moving items from his office to a storage unit in Bel Marin Keys and hired two day laborers from San Rafael to assist him. A box that wasn't supposed to be moved, which had valuable contents including a $6,000 ring, is now missing.  The total loss is approximately $7,300. A grand theft report was taken for documentation.  

A resident of the 10 block of Hilldale Drive reported her locked bicycle was taken from the driveway that runs next to her residence. The wire lock was cut and left behind. The bicycle is a navy blue Beach Cruiser type bike with white and teal rims, dark brown basket in the front, and a big brown leather seat. Documentation was provided for the theft.  

A Fairfax resident reported her credit card was used at a business in the 700 block of Sir Francis Drake Blvd. The loss is approximately $500 to $700. A fraud report was taken.
