San Anselmo Burglary Suspect Arrested After Car Crash in San Rafael

Suspect fled into San Rafael after burglary stopped in progress.

Two suspects in a residential burglary in San Anselmo were arrested this morning after their vehicle collided with three other vehicles in San Rafael, according to the police.

Joseph O’Neil Sullivan of Richmond, and Raynard Owens of Antioch were booked in Marin County Jail on charges of robbery and burglary. Sullivan, 26, was also charged with evading the police. Their bail is set at $75,000 each.

The resident of a home in the 100 block of Summit Road in San Anselmo reported a burglary in progress around 10 a.m. this morning, San Anselmo police Capt. James Providenza said.

The male suspects fled in a Dodge Charger, but an officer spotted the car heading east on Red Hill Avenue into San Rafael, Providenza said.

The Dodge was then involved in a collision with three other cars on Second Street in San Rafael and police detained the two suspects at gunpoint.

The burglary victim was not injured, and neither were the occupants of the vehicles involved in the crash, Providenza said.

Both Second and Third streets were closed for about an hour this morning because of the police activity.
