San Anselmo: Dog Training, Man Drinking Energy Drink

Thursday, Jan. 26

Warrant Arrest: An officer contacted and arrested a subject for an outstanding warrant on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 3:51 p.m.

Wednesday, Jan. 25

Suspicious Circumstances: Two juveniles were in a parked car near a resident’s house at Alice Way and Tomahawk Drive at 9:47 a.m. She’s had issues in the past with juveniles entering her property.

Hazard: Phone lines were down and in the road on Scenic Avenue at 11:07 a.m.

Animal: There was a dog in a car with the windows rolled up on Ross Avenue at 11:53 a.m. Officers made contact with the owner, who rolled the windows down.

Battery: A resident reported that a woman approached her and was yelling and grabbed and scratched her at Pine Street and San Anselmo Avenue at 12:43 p.m. Officers responded and checked the area.

Disturbance: Subjects were blocking the sidewalk on San Anselmo Avenue to express their political views and verbally abuse passersby. Officers found the subjects were not blocking the sidewalk or being verbally abusive. An officer did note that a passerby was verbally abusive to the group.

Burglary: Items were taken from a residence on Woodside Drive.

Tuesday, Jan. 24

Driving without a License: At a traffic stop at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Bridge Avenue at 12:36 a.m., a man was determined to be driving without a valid license. He was cited and the car was released to a licensed driver.

Noise: Two subjects were being loud in the backyard of a residence on Ross Avenue at 2:35 a.m.

Department of Public Works Notification: A resident saw raw sewage and toilet paper coming up out of a meter box on San Anselmo Avenue at 8:21 a.m. Ross Valley Sanitary District was notified.

Juveniles: A resident reported that her daughter went to a slumber party over the weekend and when she picked her up the daughter was intoxicated. This occurred on Butterfield Road and was within the Sheriff’s jurisdiction.

Suspicious Circumstances: A woman was sitting in a car in front of a resident’s house on Cordone Avenue at 10 a.m. When the resident returned home, she found mail in her box already opened.

Suspicious Person: A resident reported that a “character” was hanging around the parking lot at Drake at 11:36 a.m. The subject was contacted and agreed to pour out his alcoholic beverage. He was abated from the area.

Disturbing the Peace: Four to five people were yelling and challenging each other to a fight at Oak Knoll and Pastori Avenues at 12:06 p.m.

Battery: A resident reported that a neighbor got out of his truck on Oak Knoll Avenue and began aggravating her son at 12:32 p.m.

Animal: A resident reported seeing a man and woman grab a dog’s legs on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. When the dog fell over, the couple starting hitting the dog’s face. Officers made contact with the subjects, who had been training their dog and putting it on its side as a form of dominance to get him to quit barking at others. The dog was interacting with the couple and not afraid.

Unwanted Subject: An employee on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard reported that a subject appeared to be living in a car in their parking lot and refused to leave.

Disturbing the Peace: There were loud juveniles playing on the field at the high school at 11:29 p.m.

Driving Under the Influence: Fairfax Police advised one of their officers was following a possible drunk driver at the Hub, but then the driver made a U-turn. The driver was located and arrested for drunk driving.

Monday, Jan. 23

Accident – No Injury: While an officer was on traffic enforcement on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 7:06 p.m., there was a two-car collision.

Sleeper: There was a subject sleeping in a car on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 9:07 a.m.

Suspicious Person: A subject was in front of a business on San Anselmo Avenue panhandling, smoking marijuana and drinking at 11:10 a.m. Officers contacted the subject and determined he was not panhandling, the smoking was a hand-rolled cigarette, and the drink was an energy drink.

Accident – No Injury: A car possibly hit a tree at Saunders Avenue and Park Drive at 12:35 p.m. and drove off.

Missing Person: A mother could not locate her child on Ross Avenue at 2:40 p.m. The child was located at home.

Burglary: Three laptops were stolen from a residence on Ridge Road.
