Suspicious Circumstances: A woman on Mariposa Avenue woke up with someone choking her at 9:50 p.m. The room was dark and she heard a male voice. She could hear her roommates laughing and she was unsure if it was a prank. Officers contacted her and determined her bedroom door was locked the whole time; they checked the house, which was all clear. She believes it may be a side effect of medication or possibly a night fright.

Welfare Check: A woman at Creekside Apartments said people above her are talking about her and about getting a motel room at 12:33 p.m. She believes they are going to put her in a bed and take her some place. She also noted that there was a white van with no windows parked in front of her apartment, which is suspicious.

Shot: A nurse from the Kaiser Emergency Room in Terra Linda reported that a 16-year-old patient from Fairfax was shot in the buttocks with a pellet gun the night before.

Suspicious Circumstances: Two juveniles contacted an officer on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 12:05 a.m. They told the officer they'd been sent by an online friend to look for a suicidal subject who had cut himself. It was determined that the online friend lived in Indiana. The sheriff there conducted a welfare check and determined that it had been a prank and that everyone was fine; they were reprimanded regarding their behavior.

Suspicious Circumstances: A car drove through the Drake High School campus, but no one was injured and there was no property damage. The officers later acquired a license plate and were able to speak with the driver. A DMV re-evaluation will be conducted.

Public Intoxication: A girl was spraying Raid on a dog and on cars at Sherman and Dominga Avenues at 5:58 p.m. She was arrested for public intoxication.

Driving Under the Influence: A resident reported that their car was vandalized at Alpine Dam at 2:42 p.m. They hadn't reported it to the sheriff yet, but advised the car was headed towards Fairfax. Officers stopped a matching vehicle and the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and booked intot he county jail.

Hazard: A life-sized dummy appeared to be hanging from a telephone pole at Center Boulevard and San Anselmo Avenue. An officer determined it was part of a Halloween display.

Suspicious Circumstances: A woman reported that while she was walking on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, subjects dressed as shrubs jumped out of the bushes and scare her. They then sat back down and looked like bushes again.

Driving Under the Influence: Residents on Cypress Avenue and Cascade Drive were woken up by a loud noise at 2:25 a.m. They heard a horn honk then. Officers responded and contacted a driver, who had had an accident and was leaving the scene. The driver was arrested for a DUI. There was also a hit and run with property damage at Cascade and Laurel Drive and another one on Cascade Drive. They were both related to the previous DUI arrest.

Vandalism: A resident reported two subjects were writing on the windshields of cars on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 4:27 p.m. The owners advised that the cars were being decorated for homecoming.

Driving Under the Influence: A vehicle crashed into a house on Bolinas Road at 2:46 a.m. The driver did not need an ambulance. There was a DUI arrest on Bolinas Road at 3:14 a.m. related to the incident. The passenger of the car was also arrested and booked for public intoxication.

Battery: A resident reported he was pulled out of his vehicle at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Butterfield Road at 1 p.m. by a subject associated with a large group of motorcycles.

Suspicious Circumstances: Two men were trying to hitchhike on Red Hill Avenue at 4:54 a.m. Officers contacted them and they both agreed to be searched. They were clear and were moved along.

Burglary: A resident reported that this was the fourth time someone broke into her vehicle and her stereo was taken on San Anselmo Avenue.

Suspicious Circumstances: There was a report of a woman walking westbound on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard with little or no clothes on at 6:06 p.m.

Disturbance: There were approximately 15 subjects fighting in the street outside Nave's at 1:48 a.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: A woman walking her dog on San Francisco Boulevard was spraying other dogs with some substance and cursing at people in the area at 11:40 a.m.

Monday, Jan. 17, 2011

Alcohol Violation: A subject parks in the area of Giuliani Flooring every day, sits in his car, drinks beer, and then urinates in a bottle and pours it on the ground. A citation was issued.

Monday, Jan. 24, 2011

Assault: A student at White Hill made a home-made electric stun-style device, put it on someone’s neck and buzzed it. It delivered only a minor shock.

Hazard: There was an anonymous complaint of someone creating giant soap bubbles along the Bolinas Avenue side of Fairfax Park at 7:58 a.m. Pedestrians can’t walk past without getting soap in their eyes.

Juveniles: Two juveniles were toilet-papering a house on Madrone Avenue at 10:43 p.m. Officers stood by while the juveniles cleaned it up and were released to their parents.

Suspicious Circumstance: A resident’s friend came over the night before and spent the night on Grove Hill Avenue South. When the resident went to bed, the friend drank half a bottle of liquor and rook the resident’s car, but doesn’t remember where he took it. The car was returned, but now there’s a dent in the rear.

Suspicious Person: A resident’s daughter said that the day before a suspicious man was sitting in his car on San Anselmo Avenue and appeared to be taking photos of juveniles walking by. He was seen again on Tuesday, taking photos of passersby. Officers contacted the subject, who consented to a search of his phone and no photos of juveniles were found. He was warned.

Suspicious Circumstances: A man was sitting in a car on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard with what appeared to be a handgun at 4:53 p.m. Officers couldn’t locate the vehicle. Twin Cities PD later pulled the car over and determined the handgun was a replica only.

Found: A very large teddy bear was left on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 3:35 a.m. It was believed it was stolen from a business downtown. Officer responded and confirmed it was not a match.

Suspicious Circumstances: The night before around 9 p.m., a woman saw four flaming objects in the sky and then found a parachute in her yard on Barber Avenue. It was probably a signal flare.
