San Anselmo Fire Damages Garage, Briefly Closes Area Roadway

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

By Bay City News Service:

A small fire damaged a home's garage and briefly shut down a roadway in San Anselmo this weekend, according to a fire battalion chief.

The fire broke out around 10:45 a.m. Sunday in a detached garage in front of a home in the 100 block of San Francisco Boulevard, Ross Valley Fire Department Battalion Chief Dan Mahoney said.

Crews arrived on the scene and were able to get the fire under control in about 10 minutes, the battalion chief said.

No injuries were reported and a cause for the fire has not been determined.

While firefighters responded to the blaze, police shut down San Francisco Boulevard between Alderney Road and Santa Cruz Avenue. The roadway reopened a short time later.
