San Anselmo Police: Dogs Left in Cars, Stolen Paper, Public Intoxication

The following information was provided by the San Anselmo Police Department. It does not indicate conviction.

Sunday, July 31 

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident reported that she could hear people talking and glass breaking in the street at Broadmoor Avenue and Brookside Drive at 1:13 a.m.

Public Intoxication: A resident woke up and saw two men at the front of his house on Scenic Avenue at 4:09 a.m. They were stumbling and were arrested for public intoxication and booked into the county jail without incident.

Suspicious Circumstances: Two men were looking into storage units on Sunnyhills Drive with flashlights at 6:19 a.m., but quickly left the area.

Animal: Dogs were playing on private property on Ross Avenue at 8:16 a.m.

Disturbing the Peace: There was a verbal dispute, possibly over parking, on Bank Street at 1:18 p.m.

Public Intoxication: A subject was intoxicated and yelling at people on Bolinas Road at 3:03 p.m. He was arrested for public intoxication and probation violation.

Harassment: A resident reported that her neighbor was harassing her. Officers determined it was a civil matter.

Saturday, July 30

Animal: A dog was left locked in a car on Tunstead Avenue at 11:40 a.m.

Animal: A dog was left in a car on Red Hill Avenue at 2:49 p.m. Officers found that the dog was not in distress and the sunroof was open.

Animal: A dog was in a car on Tunstead Avenue at 3:04 p.m. and was panting.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident believes that a subject might have stolen a bale of paper from a store in San Rafael.

Begging: There was a panhandler on Center Boulevard at 3:34 p.m. Officers located the subject, who was hitchhiking.

Petty Theft: A phone was stolen on Blackhawk Drive.

Harassment: A resident reported a woman was harassing him.

Barking Dog: Dogs were barking for an hour on Rivera Avenue.

Friday, July 29

Fire: A commercial fire alarm was sounding on Belle Avenue at 5:21 a.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: An unknown subject entered a locked car on San Anselmo Avenue over the night.

Animal: There was a dog barking on Monterey Avenue

Accident – Minor Injury: There was a solo vehicle collision on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 3:11 p.m. The driver was transported to the hospital.

Animal: A dog was running in the road at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Calumet Avenue at 7:24 p.m.

Noise: There was a loud party at an apartment complex on Tamalpais Avenue at 11:15 p.m. Officers located a small group talking.
