San Anselmo Police: Parachute Found, DUI, Firecrackers Set Off

Sunday, July 24

Municipal Code Violation: A number of signs were removed around town.

Family Disturbance: A resident requested advice about a family dispute on Hawthorne Avenue at 1:23 p.m.

Animal: A resident requested an officer check the welfare of a dog on San Anselmo Avenue at 1:42 p.m., since it cries all day and night. Humane made contact with the owner, who said it barks when they leave it outside and they would try to keep it indoors.

Wires Down: There were wires down behind a house on Sierra Avenue at 3:27 p.m.

Animal: A resident reported a large amount of yellowjackets in her backyard on Tunstead Avenue at 4:07 p.m.

Saturday, July 23

Driving Under the Influence: There was a possible DUI driver at Redwood Road and San Anselmo Avenue at 2:54 a.m. Officers located the car parked and were unable to determine who was driving and a cab was called.

Fraud: A resident reported an unauthorized use of a credit card.

Suspicious Circumstances: The night before around 9 p.m., a woman saw four flaming objects in the sky and then found a parachute in her yard on Barber Avenue. It was probably a signal flare.

Animal: There was a raccoon in a driveway on Aspen Court at 11:46 a.m.

Accident – No Injury: A tree fell on a car on Tamalpais Avenue.

Vandalism: There was vandalism to a resident’s car on Durham Road.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident heard gunshots in the area of Butterfield Road at 10:51 p.m. Officers located several firecrackers.

Friday, July 22

Suspicious Circumstances: Multiple callers reported what sounded like several gunshots or firecrackers on Ross Avenue at 5:12 a.m.

Noise: There was loud music on San Anselmo Avenue at 3:49 p.m. It was determined to be a town-sanctioned event.

Threats: A resident wanted advice regarding threatening messages.

Hazard: There was a broken picnic bench at Memorial park.

Suspicious Person: There was a subject sleeping on the ground on Shaw Drive at 6:32 p.m.

Unwanted Subject: A man was harassing customers at a business on San Anselmo Avenue at 6:37 p.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: While patrolling the area on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 9:01 p.m., an officer heard what sounded like glass breaking, but was unable to locate anything suspicious.

Suspicious Person: A subject appeared to be preparing to camp on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 9:46 p.m.

Noise: There was a loud party in a residence on The Alameda at 11:28 p.m.

Noise: Loud juveniles were on The Alameda at 11:28 p.m.
