San Anselmo Police: Front Door Glued Shut, Mystery Collision, Intoxicated Man Walking in Street

Sunday, March 13

Suspicious Circumstances: A pick-up truck was parked in front of a house on Park Drive the night before and then it wasn’t there in the morning.

Found Property: While picking up trash, a woman found an odd bottle containing an unknown object. An officer didn’t think it was suspicious.

Noise: There was a car with its stereo/bass playing very loud for several hours on Mariposa Avenue at 4:03 p.m.

Disturbing the Peace: A resident’s daughter was hysterical on Bennit Avenue at 6:08 p.m. Officers counseled all parties.

Vandalism: Someone glued a resident’s front door shut on Cedar Street. 

Saturday, March 12

Disturbing the Peace: There was a disturbance in the area on San Anselmo Avenue at 2:03 a.m. An officer located a car that had apparently been involved in a collision. The responsible party was less than cooperative and declined to state what had happened. The car was moved and parties were abated.

Driving without a License: During a traffic stop at San Anselmo Avenue and Center Boulevard at 9:01 a.m., a driver was determined to be unlicensed. She was cited and released.

Warrant Arrest: During a routine patrol at Greenfield and Sequoia Avenues at 9:42 a.m., an officer located a familiar subject from previous contacts. A records check was conducted and she was determined to have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, as well as a suspended license. She was subsequently booked into the county jail and cited for driving without a license. The car was left legally parked.

Solicitor: There was an older woman soliciting in the alleyway on San Anselmo Avenue with a sign at 10:48 a.m.

Public Works: The drinking fountain by the bathroom at Memorial Park is flooded and the other wasn’t working.

Reckless Driving: A resident reported that a driver seemed very intoxicated on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 3:51 p.m. and was seen swerving in the westbound lanes.

Suspicious Person: There was a report of a man mumbling to himself and walking in the middle of the street on Broadmoor Avenue, drinking a beer, at 4:10 p.m. Officers found he was not intoxicated, but had been drinking.

Juveniles: A subject was running on the roof of a building on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.

Missing Person: A resident reported that her 14-year-old daughter was missing and was last seen at 3 p.m. on Friday.

Disturbing the Peace: A subject was throwing displays in a store on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 9:42 p.m.

Driving Under the Influence: A resident witnessed a driver hit the curb near a business on San Anselmo Avenue and made unsure maneuvers in the parking lot at 10:01 p.m.

Animal Call: A resident heard coyotes making a kill near his house at Los Angeles Boulevard and Santa Cruz Avenue at 10:15 p.m. He thought he heard them frequently killing pets, but wouldn’t provide his address. Officers checked Memorial Park and found no coyotes.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident left around 10 p.m. to take her daughter home and secured all the locks, but when she came home she found all the locks unlocked on Red Hill Avenue.

Friday, March 11

Unwanted Subject: A resident reported that an apparent homeless person had locked herself in the bathroom of a business on Greenfield Avenue at 8:34 a.m.

Found Property: A Visa card was found on San Anselmo Avenue.

Suspicious Circumstances: A subject in a PG&E jacket was on foot on Suffield Avenue at 10:48 a.m. Officers met with the subject, who verified he was with the company.

Possession of Marijuana: A juvenile was cited for possession of marijuana at 2:02 p.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident reported that it appeared subjects “bullied” groceries from another subject on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 4:57 p.m. Officers didn’t locate anything suspicious.

Disturbing the Peace: There was a disturbance on Kensington Road at 6:30 p.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident on Richmond Road reported that a tenant told him a subject had been burning some papers and acting suspicious in the area at 7:25 p.m. Officers contacted the subject, who was moved along. Some ash was located.

Suspicious Person: A subject was loitering on Mariposa Avenue at 8:46 p.m.

Suspicious Person: A subject came to a resident’s front door on Skyline Road and said he was an investigator, looking for the previous occupant. Officer checked the area, but the subject was gone.

Assault with Deadly Weapon: A resident reported that her son had attacked her and her friend on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 11:01 p.m. He was arrested and booked into the county jail for assault with a deadly weapon and probation violation.
